This thread is for all general lore-related discussions and questions. For all you Randomness people out there, I propose this to be the Recycle Bin (Concept) of the Lore and Role Playing forums.
So, if you have a question about the lore, but it isn't big enough to credit it's own thread, post it here!
I will start. Can anyone tell me how long the Second War lasted? I mean from the launch of the Horde offensive to the destruction of the Dark Portal.

Well, since this is suppose to be the type of 'recycle bin' for the Lore & Roleplaying board, I'll motion for a sticky.

@ Jahk: As far as I know, it just goes off saying the armies of the Alliance/Horde took care of them.
But that's just a guess, Kael'Thas was killed off along with Kil'jaedan being beaten back by players and that was recorded.

Ok then, something bugs me there if players or armies of the Horde/Alliance took care of them including
Grand Crusader Dathrohan
which becomes Balnazzar when fighting.
When we look how Sylvanas trusted Varimathras we see that she made him kill his brother, another nathrezim which is something forbidden for them. If we killed the Grand Crusader along with Balnazzar, Sylvanas should have learned that and confronted Varimathras. But she didn't understand he was going to betray until he really betrayed.
I'm really confused here...
We took his head to the Argent Dawn, so it's possible they didn't share the information with the Forsaken?

Yes! The recycle bin of Lore&Roleplaying has been created!

So, I've got a question. What does Garona think of her heritage, and by proxy, what does she think of the Orcs/Draenei?

That.... is really hard to tell. I'm sure she has a hatred of the Old Horde, but she's also afraid of herself, that was why she gave Med'an away when he was first born, she was scared to death that she would kill him at some point while in a fit of insanity or something.
As for her own heritage; she seems relieved to find Maarad, knowing that her only family wasn't those twisted bastards who had altered her, driven her insane and turned her into a killing machine. I'm hoping as we continue on towards the title split, we'll see more of her, because I do like the new Garona, even with the new sue-child thrown into the mix.

Wow, this got stickied fast.
Anyway I think I will go with the Second War lasting for two years.

i was in howling fjord earlier today and thought if the hand of venagance is also interested in destroying the horde and everything else? or is it just ras. i saw the same type of bombs there as the 1s at the wg.
and will emerald drm be a zone for druids only or for all classes in the future? b/c in cataclysm the emerald drm might officially come out.

Hand of Vengeance is definitely Sylvanas loyal. The use of Blight does not necessarily indicate Varimathras loyalists.
And they wouldn't make the Emerald Dream Druid only, they're generally trying to make things less class specific, even at the cost of lore faithfulness. They'd probably say "the Nightmare is affecting more than just the Druids, so they have a right to go in and fight it" or "the Druids and Green Dragons are fighting a losing battle against the Nightmare and are willing to take any help they can get."

The biggest problems with the Nightmare are being dealt with in "Stormrage", if they're going to add in something about the Dream and the Nightmare afterwards for WoW.....

Anyone ever run into the gnome Twofootfury on the official forums? Oh, how I hate him/her. Here's a nice little bit from a
discussion I've been having about Turalyon in the Official Forums
.
If you're going by my achievements, game mechanics≠lore. I only did WSG because I needed the marks for gear. My character, the way I've written her, has never unjustly done anything to the Alliance or Varian. And he wants to kill her because of her race.
*shrugs* Green skins should be killed either way.
Yes, it's a troll, but one that constantly shows up to bash the Horde. He/she is one of the reasons I made that Official Forums rant a while back.

I'm not sure if she was magically aged... Let me check the comic...
Edit: Does not seem to say in the comic. I'd say her Draenei half would make her mentally young regardless of whether she was magically aged or not.

I just checked up on
Wowwiki
- and my hunch seems correct.
Gul'dan would then age her, and then tortured her.Later on, he also placed controls on Garona's mind, making her his slave
So, is it likely she was mentally still a child when she killed Llane?
Not necessarily. I would think the aging process would carry over to mental aging as well. She seems very adept with her cognitive capacity when she befriends Llane and the bunch, so I think she's mentally an adult at that point.
