Side-note... won't the colleges be able to see this online if they bother using a plagiarism checker (I know one was used on mine)? I'm not sure if uploading something like a university application statement is seen as fair, and might be highlighted for plagiarism.
I did think of that, and I hope it won't be a problem. I guess I can handle it immediately after I submit it though.
I'm not sure if pastebin would be subject to those plagiarism checks... After all, it's not exactly an academic database.
I think Patty means this site specifically.
Also, I'm actually going to try to minimize the "one" thing. It does seem a bit annoying.

As Patty said, avoid using the term "I believe." You are trying to convince them that cheating in video games and cheating IRL are both unethical. Using "I believe" and other such phrases ("I may be biased") weakens your stance and decreases the strength your writing holds.
This is a college application, correct? If so, you want to make your point known without seeming to be weak or indecisive. This is your chance to sell yourself to the college and you want to make it as good of an attempt as possible.

Which part? The "however you define it", the "wrong and dishonest", or the statement as a whole?
I mean that nothing you said up to that point would back up you classifying it like you did.
I've never heard the term "QED" before, but I looked it up. Is it pretty much just an example?
Demonstration.
Something like "Changing your grades will land you in a $%^&ton of trouble while the punishment for hacking a game is less (giving examples)"?
Yes.
I'll just say that's what I believe.
That's very noble of you.
Not sure how I should, or if I should, given the nature of this essay and the relatively short length it needs to be.
I'm sure you can have an annexed bibliography as long as you keep the central text within it's right limits.

Alright, belief, believe, "one", eliminated or replaced with better terms. Same with the biased line. It looks good to me now, and I think I can submit it. Thanks for the help, everyone.

Alrighty, I just sent my applications out. Thanks again, everyone.
Also, Saggy, if you could remove the Pastebin links from your previous posts, I would appreciate it. Better safe than sorry.

Wait, just reread your statement. Lives up to its namesake as in, the movie lives up to the musical, or lives up to the phrase "les misérables"?

Supposedly it's a horrible movie....as in, not that the story is horrible(which it is) but that the movie itself is reeeeeaaaaaalllllllyyyyyyy awful.

Rottentomatoes puts it at 70% with 84% audience approval.

Nah, that's just Russell Crowe and the director's fetish for close-up portrait video.
The music itself and the performance is pretty good. Anne Hathaway is absolutely amazing - definitely deserves her awards. Hugh Jackman as a performer was pretty decent too, not quite as convinced, but he had *the* Valjean of the stage there on hand to give him character tips.
