Feel free to not like Arena...if you don't, you don't. However I'm inclined to agree with celestior, based on your posts. Specifically:
By being good at arena all you have proven compared to those that don't Arena is that you can react correctly to predefined, artificially limited variables.
It sounds like at best you're part of a team that plows into 10 games a week for points and losing most of them, but still get whatever points you can get. Which is okay, do what you gotta do. But the only thing predefined about arena is that 2 teams are going in and only one's gonna win; beyond that, the winner will be the ones that think fastest and stay on their toes. The losers will be the ones looking for the predefined variables.
This thread's point was to insinuate that folks who do not Arena are actually no better or worse than those that do, thus arena-goers sense of ego being misguided.... while I don't like folks that flaunt their rating, that's still simply not the case. Nobody's holding your preferred 'style' of pvp against you; your preferred style just happens to be very non-competitive and mostly boils down to which mob of people can rush the node first (which even small mobs of people can be destroyed by a single good Arena player). Yet you're attempting to define and even talk down about the play level of the most competitive pvp venue in the game, when you admittedly don't know hardly anything about it.
tldr: Do what you like doing, and have fun with it. But if your idea of hardcore pvp is carrying the flag in EotS, you're going to get crushed. A lot.

It is the height of arrogance to insist that a player who only plays Arena is at the peak of the game. That is simply a justification for Failing at the other phases of the game. I can't see how you can convince me that a player who has a 3000 rating in arena but no Raid experience is superior to Raider.
I hope I use Dual Spec to it's fullest. I Tank/DPS Raids. Run and function well in the BG's and enjoy a good arena battle in 2's, 3's, and soon 5's. You may argue it is a "Jack of all... Master of none" but at least I have made the effort to improve on my weaknesses, not wash them away by saying "I tank ICC, what do I need the Arena for?"
It is impressive, the skill you develop in PvP, but there is a great need for situational awareness, en mass, in a raid. Take one of you Arena only guys and watch you fail at even Heigan the Unclean. See if a elite arena guy has the skill to save his cool downs for the right moment, to keep his buffs up, to maintain their proper relationship in terms of threat. All of these things takes a kind of team work they may never understand.
Remember, when someone gives you critisism, look at the source. An arena pig telling anyone that Raiding is easy and scripted has not seen the fights and doesn't understand the effort it takes to be a successful raider. Just let them feel better and let the guys have their "new clothes". It keeps them from wiping a raid.

Think of arena like a BG on 'roids, it's faster, more pressured, with less room for mistakes, that is the reason many prefer it, it can at times feel like a mini adrenaline rush.
And both serve their purpose. There are Arenas for the highly competitive and BG's for those who don't want to spend the hours learning everything about every class. Theres a reason not everyone has a "gladiator" title.
Not to say that Bg's don't serve their purpose. I happen to like Bg's because I'm still learning to pvp. If I stepped into Arenas I don't think I'd last very long.

In
general
, most high rated pvpers are better at pve than most average raiders, the only difference is most pvpers don't have the gear to excel at pve. At least, this has been my experience.

The thread is about Arena Elitism. PvE does equal PvP. It just has differing vantage points on the WoW system. I happen to enjoy both,
I take no insults from, inexperienced people, especially ones I don;t know. The comment was intended to point out that there are many skills to hone in the game and Arena is only one of them, and a small one at that.
Your post clearly shows you have little understanding of the English language as well. Heigan has nothing at all to do with BG's. Go to the thread
People who cant get 1800 rated BG wont help?
to muddle over Arena Pigs viability in the BG's.
The final quote was intended to assuage the reaction to Arena Elitism many people feel. Look at the source. That's all I'm saying. When an non raiding Wrathful wearing leetburger wants to tell you that raiding is below them, just look at the source. My bet those guys have little to no ability to work as a team. A real team, and feel the need to take it out on others.
