A Final Fantasy reference!

For those that have not played, Geysahl Greens are the preferred treat of large birds known as Chocobos which function not only as a player mount but also happen to be very cute. Additionally any time the player is riding or in close proximity to a large amount of Chocobos, they hear “The Song.”

These are soulbound. You can only find them right on the water's edge along the river (only in Uldum) - Don't bother looking away from the water's edge. They are quite small, but once you see your first one, you will know what to look for.

There is apparently one prerequisite to finding this item: 50th level (based upon the most recent level squash as of this writing on 12/23/21). I have a Druid herbalist, who was 48th level, and I tried finding these, and was unable to locate a single one, despite combing the length of the river, both sides, and the delta twice. Suspecting that I needed to complete my introductory quests in BfA before I could see these (or that I needed to be 50th level), I went back to Kul Tiras (my toon is Alliance) to do more of the introductory quests. I still cannot see the dailies (I need to reunite Katherine and Jaina Proudmoore), but I did attain 50th level. I went back to the river and checked for Gersahl Shrubs and found 8 of them before I stopped looking.

I realize this is not conclusive proof that you need to be 50th level, but it sure looks that way to me. I went over both sides of the river and the delta twice, and didn't spot a single one on my minimap (using herb tracking). I come back after attaining 50th level, and I find a bunch without even inspecting the entire stream.

Now, I have to see if the Friendly Alpaca will take only one at a time, as I need to feed him for seven days before I get the mount. I will let you know once I find this out.

Edit 1: Confirmed. I encountered the Friendly Alpaca and he ate only one of my Gersahl Greens. Since I have eight left, I will have more than enough to complete this quest.
