so while theres an assault on booty bay this npc will not be there super annoying

For Bloodsail Admirals, you can still interact with him, just have defensives ready to avoid being killed by the guards while you wait for him to do his thing!

People who have assault in Booty Bay and can't complete this quest. Here is the solution:

Thanks to the World of Warcraft Game Master "Ravenbat".

You will need to complete the quests at the below:

Prepare for Takeoff
The Final Voyage of the Brashtide
Turning the Brashtide
The Damsel's (Bad) Luck
Bloodsail's End

After these quests, the assault will be finished and you will be able to see the npc to complete the Alchemy quest.

Really frustrated. If you've got the Brashtide Invasion happening because you did the bloodsail admiral questline, I dont believe its possible to complete this quest. Outside of not being HATED with bootybay?

Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe this will help someone but this NPC is not in the house with Qixdi Goodstich or Blixrez Goodstich, even though the marker on the map can lead you there =/
Instead Tryks is in the house above that one.

I'm adding screenshots of Tryks Pourtrue's shop and him in full questified special-effect mode, for those being frustrated by lack of altitude markers.

(It's the one with the bead curtain, by the way.)

If you were farming your Bloodsail rep and are hated with the gobbers, this post is for you. While stuck on this myself, I was able to find only a handful of posts referencing this problem, with vague, or no details on how to get around it:

Tryks Pourtrue is a (thankfully neutral) goblin residing in Booty Bay. Unfortunately, he is in the unphased version of Booty Bay. If you head out to Booty Bay, and it's under attack by the Brashtide, you will not be able to see him.

There are three ways to get around this:

1. Complete the Brashtide questline. This requires you to at least be neutral with the Booty Bay goblins
2. Farm your Booty Bay goblin rep back up to neutral
3. Attempt to reach Tryks before the phase loads in

I'll be talking about the third option, as I am both hated with Booty Bay, and not interested in farming my rep back up at this time, just to finish this quest (I plan to spend some time with it later for Insane in the Membrane).

Tryks Pourtrue is located in a hut in the top of Booty Bay. I've circled the hut on this map. In order to reach him while unphased, you will have to try (many times) to fly in from the Cape of Stranglethorn into Booty Bay and reach him before the phase loads. Here are the steps I took:

1. Open your keybinds and bind Interact with target (Esc > Key Bindings > Targeting > Interact with Target)
2. Make a macro to /tar Tryks and use the interact keybind (I'm dumb and couldn't figure out how to combine them, so I had two binds, one for each)
3. I personally flew out just over the hill from the hut toward the pirate ships in the Cape and then back in. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I found that the further away I flew, the more time I had before it shifted the phase when I flew back in
4. As you're flying back over the hill, start spamming your target/interact macro. Once he's highlighted, you just have to quickly do some insane aerial maneuvers into the hut and get close to him to complete the quest. Keep in mind: you do have to click some text on the quest box to finish the conversation, and interacting with him will not prevent him from phasing, so you must be fast. In my own personal experience, even clicking the text several times did not complete the quest immediately, I had to keep spamming it

Get ready to do this several times. It took me probably 45 minutes to finally complete the quest, figuring this out on my own, and the rng of the phase loading included.

I know some people are adverse to videos, but I did include a video of the exact flight path I took for the visual learners (beware, there are a few f bombs, I just clipped my live stream while I was figuring this out), as well as take the time to write this up for those who prefer the text. I hope this helps for us small few who are too lazy to grind our gobber rep!

If you have the Booty Bay phased invasion active, and are trying to talk to Tryks before he phases out of existence by flying out and in but he disappears too quickly, try throttling the Warcraft client's network connection to increase your latency and give you enough time to secure the quest completion. On my machine and network connection the phasing was happening near instantly, there wasn't enough time to even get in the room with Tryks still spawned let alone talk to him. The way I managed just barely to complete the quest was by throttling the Warcraft client's bandwidth to 3 KB/s both upload and download. I'm playing on a Windows machine so I used the program NetLimiter 4 to quickly and easily set a rate limit. I'm sure whatever platform you are on there will be a similar option either via the command line or an external program. I tried several dozen times without limiting my network connection and wasn't even getting close, after applying the 3 KB/s up and down limit it took me a few tries but I just managed to go through his dialogue to gain credit for the quest.

Good luck and may Blizz think a little more carefully about having endgame quests sending you to areas that they know players keep phased for grinding reputation for achievements that they designed! Specifically an NPC that doesn't even exist in the phased area, of all the NPC's they could have chosen! Thanks to users ciphersimian and Mowse for the guidance.

I managed to do this today on patch 8.3, while being phased for the Bloodsail Invasion. Here are the steps:

1) Be in a party with someone that has regular Booty Bay
2) Use the new Party sync feature to phase into real Booty Bay (you will probably get attacked)
3) Find Tryks Pourtrue, but don't talk to him yet (you wont be able to do quest yet since you party synced)
4) While next to Tryks Pourtrue leave the party to phase back, and he will still be there briefly so talk to him before he disappears to complete the quest.
