For a scenario boss, this guy is extremely difficult and will likely kill you and your group if you aren't focusing.

He enters the fight with his two bodyguards. I haven't done real research on how the encounter works, but from what it seems, he will pick a random member of your group to fixate on, starting by teleporting behind them and stunning them with Cheap Shot (not sure if he casts it in other ways). After that he chases after the player, spamming Fan of Knives and doing a lot of damage. You can survive his attacks while standing in Vol'jin's healing wards, UNLESS he also drops a Gas Bomb, which is another of his abilities. The damage plus healing reduction of the gas bomb will kill you even through through the healing ward, so move out if this happens and choose one of the others. Sometimes (or always, I don't know) he drops a gas bomb immediately after choosing a new target and between that and the stun you can easily die if you don't start moving right away.

If you're trying for the achievement, the person who he is fixating on should run away from him, being careful not to run through any of the wards. Unless you pop lots of defensive abilities, it's hard to stand toe to toe with him without dying. Remember also that as a scenario boss he is NOT immune to CC. Take advantage of this by using your stuns as much as possible.

Rak'gor definitely comes as a surprise, since most people are used to simply pushing over anything in a scenario and the shock alone of realizing you actually have to participate in this battle kills a lot of groups outright.

Trying to fight this guy as part of MoP: Remix as a Beast Master Hunter - him and Broodmaster Noshi are still tuned to be fought in a group of 5 players whilst this scenario is being played Solo, as he can still easily kill you even if you're popping your stuns and heals at the right time after dragging him away from the healing wards set up in the chamber where Broodmaster Noshi is fought (at least if you want the achievement You Mean That Wasn't a Void Zone?).

For Remix: I was running solo as a BM Hunter. You can defeat Rak if you acquire the intricate blue Mogu buffs on the way into the cave. You can only acquire 5 buffs, but that's enough for the job. Make sure you still avoid his yellow smoke bombs. Gets you the achieves and the quest. :D
