very few spawn points, makes getting the quest item a bit of a pain, but at least if you are in a group, everyone gets the item

About a Five Minute spawn timer.

Placed a Mana Spring Totem and waited. There was about 41seconds left on it when the first spawned.

Supposedly the only mobs that will drop Pattern: Shadoweave Mask for the new hidden mount.

As of 7.3, these mobs can now drop Pattern: Shadoweave Mask which is required for the Lucid Nightmare riddle mount.

Make a macro, put it on your bar and just spam it. It dropped for me in literally 5 minutes. 2 other players there farming also they seemed more occupied with each other though.

Flying around is pointless just find a spot and AOE the hell out of it

I got around 1 ever 2 mins this way.

If you aint got a good spammable AOE like a Warlock then just create a spam /tar macro with any insta cast or shot you have and just spam away.

Did the following got pattern in 5 mins.

Make a trial dwarf mage on low pop RP server.
Port to Ironforge, go to Searing Gorge.
Make custom group with auto accept and name you can remeber.
Log off and log on character you want pattern on and go to Searing Gorge.
On pattern character search for group you made and join it.
Be transferred to low pop realm and farm in peace.
Get pattern quickly with no sniping.
Laugh manically!

RNG is RNG

The pattern will not be there for everyone when it drops- but joining a group will increase the area you can cover. I was in a group for an hour before I got my pattern, but saw 2 people join our group and get it on 2nd or 3rd kill.

Everyone take a spawn point, call out when you have something to loot, take turns running to loot while keeping your points covered and you'll get it eventually.

It seems they may have buffed the drop chance on this pattern, within 10 kills i managed to loot 2 patterns. Unsure if pure dumb luck or blizzard being nice to the community/economy for a change.

I sincerely believe they upped the droprate for these guys. Personally, had the third one I killed drop the pattern. It's been the same for other guildies in the past couple of days. Pays to wait a bit to farm. :)

Now that interest has waned i found it very easy to farm these guys now plus it dropped after my 4th kill so its possible the droprate has been increased.

World drop but I did got a Precisely Calibrated Boomstick while farming for the Pattern: Shadoweave Mask

I've farmed for maybe an hour in total across the day and have had 8
of the pattern drop along with this item.

To continue the train of positive news I can confirm that the drop rate on this recipe does seem higher than the stats here would suggest.

I recently picked the recipe up on a couple of characters and in each case it took just under two clears of the Steamsmiths to drop. Not the instant drop I was hoping for but for the sake of a 10 minute farm it was worth it.

Either I got really lucky or the drop rate has been increased. I got it in about 15 kills. Made me kinda do a double-take when I saw it's a 1.5% drop rate and the pattern goes for like 8k on my server.

took me 125 kills to get this pattern of shadoweave. in that same time i got 80 mageweave cloth. second one took me about 50 kills then the third landed after 1 kill (extremely lucky on that one)
