Found him walking on the east side of the stream of Whitepetal Lake in Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Dropped only a Jade Harbinger's Cloak.
On my second kill few hour later he dropped Cloak of Tranquil Clouds.
(Looks like the funky miscellaneous items been removed from the rare elites' loot table temporarily. Hope they put them back soon.)

Killed him as shadow priest, wasnt too hard fight if you can kite. He will cast Vicious Rend on you that keeps stacking up. The biggest thing about killing him is avoiding the hit after he vanishes (Vanish) when he comes out from stealth he hits you with Smoked Blade This can be avoided by running bit further. Then he just comes out from stealth and uses Grappling Hook to get you on melee range.

I was also bit lucky as a person from opposing faction helped me out at the end :)

Was very difficult for me as a squishy fire mage with no healing abilities to solo. However, I pulled him into a group of Golden Lotus Outriders that were walking on the path nearby and it made things a lot easier when they joined in the fight. :)

Just going to throw this out there, but I have a hunch that the "rares" of Pandaria spawn by zone at the exact same time. NPCscan just went for this guy, and as I was killing him went off for Major Nanners, and on my way back to the Shrine of Seven Stars, it went off for Ai-Ran of the Shifting Cloud AND Sahn TIdehunter. It might just be me but I have a feeling that these are spawning either at the same time, or damn near close to it.

All Saurok rares use the same set of abilities.

Vicious Rend is a stacking bleed effect. It can be avoided by kiting the Saurok until the debuff falls off, or simply healed through.

Grappling Hook is basically just Death Grip. Saurok will use this when you get more than 20 yards away.

Vanish and Smoked Blade are the things to watch out for. Upon Vanishing the Saurok will clear all debuffs and DoTs currently affecting him. You have a moment to retarget and hit the Saurok again before he disappears, but if you don't manage it, AoE spells can knock him out of stealth before he gets the drop on you. Otherwise, be ready with a defensive CD.

If you kite him over to the Golden Lotus Defender at 35.23, 67.93, he'll help make mincemeat of Moldo.
Just keep in mind if you don't do your fair share, you might not get looting rights to the corpse.

Killed him as Shadow priest :)
Basically just kite him, and make sure to Halo his Vanish, if you let him open out of his stealth it hits for quite alot :)
keep your dots up and spectral guise (if you picked this) when you can see that he's getting to you :)

Easily done, just takes some time

A guild mate asked me to come help kill this guy but wheN I got there my guildie was phased, and I could see neither him or Moldo. I don't understand why.

I killed Moldo One-Eye today, however he died while he was vanished and the corpse remained under the effects of stealth. I had to fumble around a bit to find his corpse, but when I tried to loot him it kept giving me a lootingerror. So, thank God for area-looting, I just went back to the river and grabbed a Stillwater Crocolisk, and drug it back to Moldo's corpse where I killed it. I was able to loot Moldo via the crocolisk.

So I suppose this could happen with any of the other Pandaria rare Saurok too since they all have identical abilities.

Found a dead one at 37,57 next to the river banks near some Fog Walkers.

Is this MOB a goal of a quest?
Is this MOB a goal of an achievement?
How often does he spawn?
Does he have a special fight ability?

I was doing OK solo until I was swarmed by Fog Walkers. By the time I got back he was grey to me and being swarmed by a host of toons.

I'm farming him hard for the flute, and I've noticed a few oddities:

1. Sometimes Smoked Blade is a one-shot. It's supposed to be 55% health, but he's one-shot my full-health pet with it several times. I noticed this and made sure to check in combat log for what killed her, and that it wasn't a bleed effect or anything.

2. If you put a DoT on him, sometimes the ticks break his stealth, and sometimes, the DoT mysteriously vanishes with Moldo and must be reapplied when he reappears.

3. Even when you're in range of it, sometimes he uses Grappling Hook, and sometimes he doesn't.

A VERY EASY way to get this guy killed is to drag him to the Shado-pan patrollers along the road near where he patrols.

Not only do they stun him regularly, but they soak up his Smoked Blade for you. This is how I soloed him and still managed to loot with no problems.

I believe certain monsters can stand on his spawn point atop the little lake hill at 39.1, 52.7 and prevent Moldo from spawning. (At least, I'm fairly sure this is his spawn point; he patrols once he has spawned, but I think this is it.)

There's a fog walker that stands up there sniffing its armpits, and I've noticed a marked drop in Moldo sightings when Fog Walkers are out.

ok very tricky this one however ,this is how i tackled ole one eye,tagged him with a spell @ 41.9,54.2 with my pet on passive ran like hell up the hill to 42.2,58.5 on the path on the jin yang road ,i should say before i started i timed my attack for when the 4 shado-pan path guards were on their way to those co-ords,so when i ran to the path he tried to drag me back with his grappling hook and suceedded but i ran like hell again back to the path bringing another saurok with me .the shado pan pile on him giving u a chance to catch breath and put ur pet on attack then just nuke him much easier than soloing especially when ur a clothie like me :) got a nice cloak out of it and futher along with the achievment "could we find more like that?" its all good :)

Killed him very easy. On the path next to the lake there is a patrol. Just simply taunt him towards the path. Once the patrol has aggo as wel just nuke him. He will me silenced most of the time. And the vanish ability issn't working for him most of the time.

While he is invisible after Vanish, he can use Smoked Blade, which is not listed under abilites, but can be deduced from the tooltip:

Causes the target to vanish into the shadows, removing all debuffs and allowing the use of Smoked Blade.

The 55% damage can be avoided if his stealth is removed, which can be done by any normal stealth revealing ability, like aoe attacks.

While vanishing you can see his travel path and adjust your aoe accordingly, as he will travel in a strict line out and in to the point the vanished.

This fight was somewhat difficult for me as a destro lock who hit 90 an hour ago. Once I got into my kiting/healing groove it was much easier, although time consuming.

One very frustrating thing occurred, however. Once, during what I can assure you was a long and boring fight (lots of felflame spam) when he was at about 25% hp and stealthed, he came back with about 75%. Don't know what happened, but it was frustrating.

Solo'd this guy as a Guardian Druid. Took me three tries, as his shadow blade thingy kept one shotting me, but I guess third time is a charm! He didn't hit very hard, but I am a tank so I can't really judge... anyway he is an easy kill if you can pull him away from all the other mobs that spawn (like on the path or something) and avoid his big stealthy attack. Be sure to reapply DoTs after he unstealths though cuz it does reset them (or it did for me).

After watching for a little while where his corpses were, and where he spawned for me, he seems to start off at a specific spawn point at 35.0, 61.8 and then he makes his rounds from there. Very similar to Lon the Bull in how he spawns at a specific point, then can be found all over his designated area if he's not found right away.

Damn, I waited 3 days for Molde One-Eye to spawn. After 3 days I gave up and did LFR, I get back and there he is on my map I run over and there hes being attacking by alliance. I was so pissed. So i marked down the time and tried to look online for maybe a spawn time for him or something. Nuthing. WTH. So i waited again while skinning, the next day, there he is again ON MY MAP. I run over, another Alliance capping him. 4 days gone waiting for him. The Last one I need for Glorious.

There is a path that is South of Whitepetal Lake. A trio of Golden Lotus NPCs patrol it, 1 Pathguard and 2 Outriders. Pull Moldo to them. They will help you. They knock him out of stealth too, so you don't take any damage. When he stealths, run away. Then they unstealth him. You will rarely be attacked as he goes after them. They will also stun him periodically which will allow you time to heal up, if needed.

It's a shame since I was already in the Brawler's Guild and I can't give it to anyone, but I noticed there was nothing about it on the site.

Pet Classes have this one the easiest. Especially with pets that can keep agro. But he is also fairly easy to kite.

So basically this guy has two major attacks. "Grappling Hook" and "Rend".

"Grappling Hook" gets used on those who get too far away. I found that if you stay withing the 10-20 yards you should be safe. It is far enough to be outside of his normal attack but close enough to not get Grappled.

"Rend" gets used when he comes out of stealth. This is really the big hitter. Easily avoidable though. Basically when he goes into stealth you want start moving someplace else away from him. From my shot at him it was fairly easily. I even back-peddled once and stayed away from his rend. I tried to AOE the area around me but that did not seem to bring him out of stealth

His normal attacks do not hit very hard, but there are plenty of them so he can dole out a lot of damage over the fight. Especially for classes that do not have a form of heal. Add that to the facts that he has a pretty big pool of health, and that you will most likely get hit by rend at least once and it can be fairly fatal. But overall not a hard fight.

Like most rares, the attacks that deal tons of damage to me deal little damage to my pet. Really helpful to have him tank for me :p

Just run away about 20 yards when he vanishes and when he reappears he won't hit you with that devastating ambush.

It's possible for his grappling hook to "overshoot" or undershoot you, especially if there's an elevation difference.

If you're behind a rock, you may stop at the rock and never reach him, which is nice for ranged classes.

If you're uphill from him in the dried up riverbed and he's standing right at the edge of where the lake used to be, however...have a slow fall ready :) He seemed to bug a little when I fell down that far, but luckily grappling hooked again pretty soon and pulled me right back up.

Been camping for the toy, 5 kills so far he spawns at 34.88, 61.74 every time. The spawn time is 43mins according to the last 2 stop watch's (most likely 40mins after body vanish)

sat and waited for him today because my life is boring as hell...the guy definitely has a two hour spawn time---I do not know in what part of the world he re-spawns in 30-45 minutes but its not in my neck of the woods

Waited approx. 90 min. for him to spawn in BfA and then I realized he might not spawn at all because of the N'Zoth Assault in the Vale. So I visited Zidormi on the terrace of Mogu'shan Palace and she kindly sent me back to pre-assault time. Moldo One-Eye appeared about 5 min later at 35.19, 62.31. Just a suggestion to try if he doesn't spawn in BfA.
