The orgrimmar grunts are now lvl 65 (non-elite in patch 2.01, because it's the pre expansion patch) Same counts for the normal guards in all the other major cities.

No, that's not strange. These guys aren't supposed to be lootable at all; as mentioned above, any loot that they're reported to drop wasn't on official servers.

Anybody ever wanted to look like one of these guys? Here's how:

They are wearing as follows,

Shoulders: Big Bad Pauldrons
Chest: Grunt's Harness
Hands: Sentinel Gloves
Waist: Sentinel Girdle
Legs: Sentinel Trousers
Feet: Sentinel Boots

Weapon: Monstrous War Axe

Also, make sure your character is an orc. :)

An interesting occurrence:

The Orgrimmar grunts guarding the zeppling tower from Org to UC would often yell out "For the Warchief!" as they heroically charge at a level 7-8 scorpid and one-shots it.

actually, you can't wear Grunt's Harness. If you look closely, Sentinel Breastplate has the armbands on the sides, wheras the grunt's harness does not. So if you want to look EXACTLY like a grunt, us the sentinel gear w/ monstrous waraxe, no helm, and Cabalist Spaulders.

these guards are stronger then all other city guards do to enrage they can hit cloth up to 1k at that point making it possible why ally don't stealth here not sure if the scouts do to.

That strip of red cloth above the belt is the underwear on the male Orc player; NPCs don't wear underwear.

Currently level 85 and as shown they have about 115k HP.

As a level 80 rogue, they hit me for 10k in melee and 3k with their shoot ability.

Interesting factoid if you're horde. If you go to the bridge in the valley of honor and aggro one of the muddy crawfish from the lake without killing it, the next grunt that comes near you will start hacking like there's a pile of wood in the middle of the pathway. Other guards that come buy just stop and stare. Not sure if this is intentional, but pretty funny!

Just found out, that if you are close to an Orgrimmar Grunt, target them and do /kiss
they will answer with a /flex

In the 6.0 patch for Warlords of Draenor, Orgrimmar Grunts received new shoulder pad models which have more detail than the Big Bad Pauldrons-styled ones (and the matching shoulders available to players were not updated).

The metal bands are now raised above the surface and there were additional spikes added. The new version is similarly asymmetrical, though: the wearer's left shoulder pad is again larger than their right. They can be purchased from a War Mill vendor in your Garrison: Orgrimmar Spaulders, along with the rest of a set which lets you skip gathering BOE greens from classic WoW: .
