JIMOTHYY...WHERE ARE YOUUUU?

Comment by foolotto

Anyone have any ideas or theories..... I'd love to test em out. I may have found something myself. Basically, it says that the thing you click in your bags to earn him is a stubby whistle, and it says you get that whistle by petting him. Just saying.

I'm joining the hunt, and while I know this isn't helpful, I'd really like to chew Blizzard's butt about creating another nightmare "puzzle" like the Jennafur nonsense. J'imothy needed to be a cozy questline. Games are supposed to be fun. Again, this fails in the fun department! Please do better Blizzard!

I've looked in all the trees of the shared section (alli toon) and their planters, flew into all the bushes with steady flight small dru bird while in first person view and there is definitely nothing in the foliage. I was also spamming interact key and a /tar j'im macro the entire time, I spent a few hours. Also checked the two prey areas on either side of silvermoon, the other on the NW edge of the docks, nothing. I'm really hoping you don't need some buff on you to see him, that would be rough.

Also checked sunfury spire itself pretty thoroughly and its foliage, and the grounds underneath that are above murder row as well, this area below the spire is a mess lots of twists and turns, tons of bushes, I checked it pretty hard too but its the area I'm most unsure about.

Named after the real Jimothy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq5NyBjMzcU&pp=ygUIaidpbW90aHk%3D

I have a feeling these trash piles are going to be inside of a building and not out in the open. I've checked the orphanage and surrounding area.

I found jimothy trapped in the air in an arcane bubble in a dead end alley in the slums of silvermoon but I believe he has 3 different spawn points all presumably in the slums of silvermoon(based on the liquid stream leaks). In order to capture him and get the whistle you need to channel on him to remove the arcane stacks. It took quite a while to do solo so if you are in a group I can only assume it goes faster.

Instructions on obtaining J'imothy from the Secret-Finding discord:

Find Ensorcelled Cryptid trapped in an arcane bubble in Silvermoon City (Midnight). Known spawn locations:

/way #2393 28.75 46.69
/way #2393 51.32 53.75
/way #2393 58.3 41.9 (lower level)
Click the Cryptid. Continue channeling while dodging the projectiles to remove 100 stacks of Barrier Integrity. Can be done solo or with multiple players.
Once all 100 stacks are removed, click J'imothy to loot Stubby Whistle which rewards J'imothy.
J'imothy despawns after one minute.

J'imothy was first discovered on August 27 2026. He is an homage to the sensational real-world raccoon Jimothy.

just caught him at 59,42 in silvermoon, hes in a glowing orb, needs to do some channeling to get him out

Observations:
You can run in circles while removing the arcane prison to hopefully minimize getting interrupted.
You can interact with the bubble with cross-faction players without joining a group.
Multiple players can click to receive the pet. Not sure if there's a cap on how many players can click & receive, but I did this with two or three other players & we all received the pet.

Happy collecting, y'all. (Edited to format for readability.)

Wierd he a critter and not a beast

Comment by mRshykid

If you can't find him, make a new toon on a dead RP realm

Comment by TAZZY4315

ive been to all 3 locations, what is his spawn time does anyone know? Hes not at any of the spawn locations listed

Comment by halyonix

respawn time is about 5-10 minutes and he will rotate between the spawn points

Comment by Coffeegrinds

My server is very busy and full of pet collectors so if yours is like that the best way to get him is to server hop or join a group if there is one and wait it out. I caught him server hopping within 15 mins.
And you can use him in pet battles (he even has a lick attack).

He seems to respond to most pet toys, but the bed confused him. He decided to jump on it as it despawned lol

Not sure why there's negative feelings about him though, this is the kind of meme-related stuff Blizz has made for its players for the last 20 years, he's free and the team who made him has nothing to do with the technical side of bug fixes. Life is too short to be miserable all the time so enjoy this silly from the Dev team and maybe even stick wings on him to amuse yourself, like I did XD

Optimized strategy for channeling

J'imothy hast to be freed out of an Ensorcelled Cryptid.

From the Wowhead guide:
/way #2393 51.4 54.6 Ensorcelled Cryptid
/way #2393 58.2 41.9 Ensorcelled Cryptid
/way #2393 28.7 46.7 Ensorcelled Cryptid

To free him you have to drain the 100 stacks by channeling and avoiding the shots.

That's where I want to give some findings.

My Ensorcelled Cryptid was at 28.7 46.7.
This is a small hut outside of Silvermoon.
The channel lasts indefinite long!
But every time you hit some objects it breaks.
Jumping breaks it.
Moving does not break it.
It has as LONG range!
I started channeling and moved out of the door and ran around the house.
So I was not hit by the shots and there are no obstacles.
You can remove all stacks within one channeling attempt if you want to.

This may be an update from a hotfix, but J'imothy DOES HAVE STATS and abilities, can be leveled and CAN BATTLE.

At level 1

Health: 149
Strength: 12
Speed: 11

Abilities are Bite, Tongue Lash, Adrenaline Rush, Counterstrike, Poison Fang, Dodge. None are custom but they are slightly different from the abilities on Bandicoon pets and Gizmo the Pure.

One of the three coordinates is under a structure, check lower part of it. He was there for me.

Comment by Fuzzywuzher

Got mine today at /way #2393 58.3 41.9 (lower level)
it was fairly easy using the run around tactic. It takes a good 3-5 mins but it's worth it for something that probably won't be around very long.

Good luck to everyone getting their J'imothy!

Comment by innercore

If you want it, I'd advise to do it now. Found it and someone else was channeling. Then someone else jumped in halfway through. It goes sooo slow if you don't have any help.

Comment by schneizeru

I put some weight on my A key, toggled auto run, and went afk.

Comment by Blackheart7

So a racoon with a birth defect became internet famous and that's now somehow a reason to make him an in-game battle pet? Uhh...okay.

Comment by bdamages

If you're a pet class. do this with your pet(s) out. If they're in the circle when the bolt hits, they will be amusingly, and harmlessly, tossed into the air.
