He is at the Shatari Skygaurd outpost in Blades Edge Mtns. At certain time intervals there is an attack, he told me 50 minutes and it is 9:10 A.M. so maybe once every two hours.

Every however many hours, a group of a Skyguard Lieutenant and several Skyguard Rangers take off from the pad and fly over to the Bashir Crystalforge. They fly a bit faster than normal flying mount speed (with a riding crop I kept up fine). They land, and the aether-tech starts playing with the crystalforge. 70 nonelite fleshbeasts spawn every few seconds and charge, and must be killed. The rangers help out. After a couple of minutes of this, a 72 elite fleshbeast spawns and comes clobberin'. After he has been up for 20 seconds or so, more of the 70 nonelites continue to spawn. The aether-tech yells something about a discovery and calling in reinforcements at this point. Soon after, 70 elite ghosts start mixing in with the nonelite fleshbeast spawns.

At this point, our group of 3 wiped out as the aether-tech died. The mobs do not despawn right away, but they scatter, making it very difficult to rez and get away. Be careful.

Note that the Aether-Tech has a ton of HP and this quest can definitely be zerged - the GY is not that far away. Even after we wiped we came back and the Tech was still alive, but there were too many mobs at that point for us to do much.

Also note that up until we wiped no quests had been given or anything.. we assume that happens at the end.

Seems like it could be 5manned with a good group, a tank and a healer. Unless there are more and nastier surprises after the part where we wiped.

All that is said above is accurate, but my group of 4 went a bit further,we stayed alive for a while after the elit spawned and i noticed these towers (which have already been mentioned). you can attack these towers, you need toattackthose towers.
I wasthe only ranged class and the towers are surrounded by a good dozen elits each soonly range can attack, i managed to get one down ( remember this was after like a min or 2 after the elits starting comming, im assuming that the towers come at the same time). once i destroyed it, it blew up big time,destoying all elits around it and some of the ones that were attacking use( assuming the ones thatspawned from it) but soon after the other towers starting to trow bombs and killed off the npc... the towers then despawned and it was over, but no one in are group died.... it stills ucked

So it appears that either a) the more people you have in the raid, the faster the event happens or b) the event is based on a set number of kills. We tried with 5 people and after about 10 minutes, the towers showed up and bombed us to death. We came back with 16 people (two hours later, not an hour later as the guy at the camp suggests) and the towers showed up after about two minutes.

After we destroyed the towers we then got completely swamped by more elites. We wiped after 10 minutes with 16 people.

ya, it is avry 2 hours. and i just tried it with a raid of 11 people and we got upto the swarm of ethereal, they range from lvl70 to 72 and their all elits. they did not wipe are raid, but they didmanage to kill her... isuggest you bring a 25 man raid and bring a bunch of aoe, that would make this fight easyer.

Me and 32 other people completed the event, and at the end, our rewards were 3 vendors. One has Unstable Flasks, one had gems for sockets (weren't great and costed 40 Apexis Shards), and one vendor with Meta Gems and two items no one had ever heard of, called Large/Small Gold Metamorphosis Geodes, which were class specific (Priest/Mage/Lock, Rogue/Hunter/Druid/Shaman, War/Pally). The Small cost 3 Apexis Crystals, and the LArge were 4. However, none of us had 3 Crystals, so... no one could buy any.

Has anyone else done this, and if so, have you bought the Geodes? We want to know what they're for.

We completed it aswell now with 35 people.

I could buy the Small Gold Metamorphosis Geode.

Inside were shitty Blue Gloves:
Windchanneler's Gloves of the .... (for me it was Sorcerer)

I learned the hard-way today how the aether-tech apprentice counts his hours.

If he says "1 hour" it means there is >1 hour but <2 hours remaining. Once he gets to <1 hour remaining, he counts it by the minute, so thats how you can tell when the assault is REALLY happening.

I tried to do this on my lvl 80 toon (druid tank in dps gear with 4,8k gs), hoping it would give rep with the Skyguard. Didn't know a thing about what I'm facing... It's rather hard to solo, because all mobs will go directly at her, so you have to taunt/damage every single one. A pain. I got there when she was at about 50% health anyway... And you can not heal her... When towers spawn you have to go there and destroy them, so that leaves her completely undefended. I ended up running to the tower and back like mad... They still got her to 30% when towers were finished. Then the elites spawned... The Bash'ir Inquisitors and such. Their ability to decrease armor by 100% is just lovely, but hardly the main problem. The other mobs (forgot the name) have the ability to heal. All of the mobs will still go directly at her, and I was unable to sustain enough rage to spam Demoralizing Roar and kill them. 8 lvl lover elite mobs hitting at you when you have 0 armor are still quite dangerous if there is too many of them...
She died about a minute after the main boss spawned. At least I think that was the main boss. Well, appeared at least. He was untargetable at that time...
If you're planning to save her for whatever reason at lvl 80, I suggest you bring a friend. It would be rather easy, if 1 would defend her, while the other would wreak havoc among the mobs.
Worst spent 30 mins ever -_-

EDIT: It seems the event happens much more often than every 2 hours now. I found her up there again in about 20 mins... Managed to get to the boss (The Grand Collector), but died when he came... And he finished off the lady with one strike. Shouldn't have used Frenzied Regeneration so soon. Was in tank gear this time. I've got enough of this ^^

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the point of this event is? Additional quests? Rep with skyguard? Or just earthly goods?

What is the status of this event nowadays? On Doomhammer/Turalyon Aether-Tech Apprentice's timer is stuck at '0 minutes' and no Skyguard Aether-Tech spawns whatsoever. ~~Thus no event and no access to Aether-Tech Master.~~

Update: The event itself spawns on Bash'ir Landing at even hours and works fine. The location will phase, but the Skyguard NPCs takes about five minutes to spawn and start the event. The only problem is at the Skyguard Outpost where no announcement or timer works, and the only indicator is when Aether-Tech Apprentice changes his response from being a broken timer to indicating that the event is happening.

Tryed to solo this at level 80, to found out it is level scaled for us during pre pacth, now i wasted 1h for difficulty to ramp up to the last npc to spawn and gank me and *!@# up the event. DONT SOLO THIS.
