Notice that the apples Cro sells are only unique to 24. Obviously a 24 reference but it seems they took the whole dialogue out and all that's left is Granny Smith going to Grok and asking where the apples went and Grok offering to smash the angry orc for smashing the apples.

But you can still buy a stack of 24 apples and smash them.

If you look it up, youll notice all those with the title "fruit seller" are alliance exclusive, with the excepetion of Grannie smith, who is freindly to both. Perhaps This is a secret society motivated by the old king Llane Wyrnn's assaniation, a secret society of neophytes seeking to strike back at the very heart of the race Llane trusted with his life, and ended up giving it to his most trusted,dying by her hand? Maybe "grannie smith" is just a sweet code name for an old women, seeming so innocent yet truly so sinister, that is going undercover in the most unlikely place to keep here disguise up? And what if Cro knows of this plot, seeking to strike back before they society tries to extract revenge, explaining the ogre guard grannie smith is using to protect her from a scene that could blow her cover? Or, on the other hand, perhaps grannie smith is a poor old lady who lost everything in outland and is just trying to make a living off of some fruit that is being cruely crushed by an overzealous orc with anger issues? the decision is up to you.

It's time to deal with this fruit situation on our terms. We've been far too accomidating (sic....bad spelling Blizz!) to the fruit vendor. Now we will simply sell the fruit. But the fruit will not be for people to eat. I forbid it! No-one will eat our fruit.

Cro can now be seen walking Darkmoon Isle's attractions with Darmari at his side.

Cro is thankfully one of many NPCs that can be found occasionally roaming the new Darkmoon Faire. I have yet to see him shouting at anyone however, fruit vendor or otherwise.

This NPC also shows up in Draenor: Cro Threadstrong.
He offers you Cro's Revenge, which rewards a Fruit Basket, a reference to the Cro's Apple he sells in Shattrath.

Cro made his return in WoD, but Granny Smith makes her return in Legion. She appears on the broken shore, but only for Rogue characters. She's next to some other, presumably more shady, merchants that also make appearances in the rogue order hall, such as Griftah, whom is selling the same wares as he was in Shattrath, and Elling Trias, Master of Cheese.

It is far from the behavior of an innocent old lady to be appearing on a demon-infested island amidst rogues and thieves. Perhaps Cro was right all along?

This guy isn't to be trusted as he doesn't hold true to his word. He screams and yells about selling the fruit from the cart, which is rudely parked in front of where he is standing, yet he fails to sell said fruit. He's all talk.

He built a conspiracy because of the Apple cart in front of his leatherworking tent.

At the Darkmoon, Faire Cro's dialog includes, And you are certain that Granny Smith has left her apples in our stall all this time?" which is what Darmari, the Leatherworking trainer with him, has been trying to tell him. It mentioned that he has been around the apples for so long that the faire has only junk food and no apples available for purchase.

Even after what looks like him finally understanding this at the Darkmoon Faire, He shows up in Draenor and now declares that he has come back in time with the intent to stop the fruit vendor's ogre army before it can begin.

He did change things and now sells Cro's Apple
All because an old lady put her cart in front of his tent. They don't make NPCs like this anymore.

He also offers a quest inside the Inn we choose to have in our Garrisons that rewards Fruit Basket
