this guy has some annoying abilites:

quite often he summons small plants, they die easily but are still annoying for healers.

and every 30-60 sec or something, he casts Tranquility. while summoning 3 or 4 bigger plant adds (non elite!) they dont much hp, but tranquility heals both them, and him! so kill the spawns ASAP, then he stops healing and you can keep dpsing (he gets immune to everything, removes all debuffs too, while channeling)

Special Abilities

Plant “Color” Seedling – Summons a Seedling every 5-10 seconds that can cast a debuff.

Tree of Life – Every 30-40 seconds High Botanist Freywinn will transform into a Tree of Life and channel a Tranquility that can not be interrupted and heals for 964 health a second to him and his Frayers. He will also summon 3 Frayer Protectors.

Frayer Protector – Frayer Protectors can use “Shoot Thorns” which is a ranged attack and hits for about 1200 nature damage.

Strategy

He spawns a seedling, which has around 1500 health, every 10 second that need to be killed quickly. They have debuffs. Every 30 secs or so he'll transforms into the Tree of Life Form and starts casting an uninterruptable tranquility. At this time he also spawns 3 lashers, which have a dot bolt and must be killed in order to prevent his tranquility, which heals him around 1% per second. The best way to do this is to keep them out of line of sight of his healing. (just keep the tank at a good spot)

If you've got a warlock in the group, grab one of the Nethervine Inciters in the next area. They hit for 1k+ and have 90k hit point. If you get one with the buff on it, the boss goes down within 1-2 casts of tranquility. You should probably let it tank and die during the fight, though. It could wipe your group if it gets loose during the fight.

We tanked him at the edge fo the bridge, and everytime he went tree form 2 mages ran up and Arcane Explosioned them down. Very easy.

If you happen to have a rogue, wound poison dramatically slows down the rate at which he heals when in tree form. Stacking it maximum) will help to shorten this fight.

Mortal Strike works great on this boss also, just try to time it before he turns into a tree so it will stay on him.

For heroic, the boss is hardly changed, except he heals more (took us about 6 tranquilities to kill him, and our dps was good) during tranquility. Need to be very on the ball in order to kill adds before he heals back all the damage you caused. We were doing 30-35% and then having 10% of that healed back.

First thing, not all debuffs disappear when he turns Immune. Whoever said that is wrong. You can still inflict things like Mortal Strike on him even when he is Immune, even though he takes no damage.

Secondly, the easiest way to beat him is to tank him in the middle of the 2 crystal pillars. DPS should kill the seedlings whenver they spawn. When he turns immune, everyone should get out of line of sight, so as to lure the spawns away from the range of tranquility.
During this time, the main tank can keep mortal strike on him so he heals pretty much nothing.
Getting out of range of sight should only take 3 steps and should be done in 3 seconds.
Hard to explain where to stand for the dpser when it is not in game but find your spot.

Not tough at all if done properly.

Group = 70 Paladin, Hunter, Mage, Warlock, Shaman

I, prot pally, tanked and the Shaman healed.

His tranquility is the real problem and the only hard thing about him. He turns into a treant and casts an uninterpretable Tranquility which also summons 3 treants. These treants heal him so as the tank you must bring them out of line of sight.

The strategy we used was to bring him to the bottom of the ramp on the left side, where you are coming in from. There when he casts tranquility lead the mobs to the other side of the wall where your dps should kill them in a few seconds. After they are dead the boss is back in action with some healed %. But trust me with a good dps, he should only use it the first time and once when he is about to die, and you know the process already, so just finish what little hp he has left.

Follow that and you can proudly say, "This was one of the easiest bosses ever!" ( no joke :D )

Note: The boss or one of his summons casts a slow debuff on you, so when tank is leading treants to other side of wall, it will be difficult. As a paladin I had the Blessing of Freedom spell so this wasn't a problem. Therefore if you cannot remove this debuff, react quickly to his transformation and it shouldn't be as bad.

If there is a Warlock in your group, Seed of Corruption IS your main spell to be casting on Freywinn. This is exceptional if you're deep Affliction.

I'm 35/5/21 (deep enough for Siphon Life and Dark Pact, basically the old SM/Ruin build only a bit deeper), and using SoC on the boss every time you see 3 Seedlings out is for the win. Don't think waiting for three is too long, because he plants them quick, and ONE SoC is more than enough to wipe the seedlings (I first tried this in Heroic and did fine ~850-950+shadow depending on what totem the Shaman in the group had down). With the amount of damage your other DPS are pumping out on the boss, SoC will proc right away.

SoC is a mana-heavy spell, but you're a Warlock. If you're spec'd anywhere similar to me you can Dark Pact, or Life Tap if need be.

This is an extremely annoying fight, but it's really not too hard. Using SoC the way I did seemed to make it incredibly easy in terms of add control. So yeah, it seems Warlocks win in a lot of the TK instances. This boss: don't let your other DPS waste their mana on adds, we have pretty much an endless pool of mana, make use of it.

Simple fight if you know what your doing. Have the tank tank him where he stands. When he summons a seedling, have a designated party member immediatly attack it. (I recommend one of the DPS, a hunter or mage does well) Every 45 seconds or so he turns into a tree of life and summons 3 mobs which heal him of about 1% a second. Have all members of the party go around the force field to the left of boss, and kill the adds. Then have all members go back and attack. Rinse and repeat. Good luck ;D

This fight can be really hard if you lack dps in the group. we had me (mm hunter,) another mm hunter (who didnt speak english bleh) and a mage (nope, no english either). I was on killing small adds and they were supposed to kill boss. problem is they didnt manage to do more damage then the tranquilitty healed. I ended up with no mana and adds didnt go down anymore, so we whiped. §after 10 times the treant thing. damage meters gave me double as much damage done then other dps'ers.

When it's Winter Veil this guy drops , he is also wearing one. It has a 100% drop rate, but only during the Feast of Winter Veil.

I just soloed this as a Resto Druid for my Potion Mastery quest. It was a pretty tough fight for me. I have 1573 SP unbuffed. Spirit and MP5 is essential here. Make sure you use Innervate and mana pot wisely.

Make sure you keep up Thorns, don't waste your mana on the Seedlings he spawns.

Also keep up Regrowth/Rejuv for the fight and use Swiftmend whenever possible.

Tank him from the middle of the bridge. Keep up Moonfire and spam Wrath on him. Run towards his alchemy table and get in the corner when he casts Tranquility so you can LOS his adds.

Cast Barkskin and use Hurricane on the adds. Your Barkskin should be on cooldown for like 10 seconds between each add phase. During this time switch to Tree Form and use Regrowth.

Took me about 10 minutes.

Easily soloable as a DK. Pop Army of the Dead and proceed kill. I think I had 3 minions left before she/he dropped. Solo'd for the Master of Potions quest.

Just soloed as a level 80 enhance shaman with mostly ilevel 200 gear for the potion mastery quest. Popped Feral Spirit, Shamanistic Rage, and Heroism as soon as I pulled. Had Healing Stream, Strength of Earth, and Magma Totems down. I never dropped below 95% health and he was dead before he ever tried to transform and heal.

Attempted to solo him for my Potion Mastery quest on a freshly 80'd Disc Priest in crafted iLvl 187-200 epics and blues. Eventually succeeded after some initial frustration; following are some tips to help those trying to do the same:

Getting there -

Mind Control is your friend! Nearly all humanoids in Bot can be MC'd - Bloodwarder Menders in particular can provide the still-useful Holy Fury buff. That aside, MC can and should be your primary method of controlling damage taken.
Mind Soothe will allow you to skip a fair portion of the trash prior to Freywinn. You can use it to bypass the Mender/Greenkeeper packs - keeping some of these groups alive also means another shot at Freywinn with the option of Holy Fury available in the unfortunate event of a wipe!
Commander Sarannis and the entire group of mobs standing around the bridge by which she patrols can be skipped without the use of Mind Soothe.
You'll want to clear the Falconer pack just before Freywinn's platform, as well as the Botanists, Researchers and Frayers near him. You'll need this space later, to kite the Lashers he'll spawn out of Tranquility.

Taking him down -

Regulate your damage. A successful attempt at soloing him involves balancing your damage dealt with your mana spent. You'll want to deal enough damage to him so as to be chipping away at his health in an expeditious fashion in spite of the healing he'll be doing via Tranquility, but you'll also want to have enough mana to last the encounter.
This means you'll want to know what your mana-efficient spells are. Fall back on SW: Pain and Holy Fire for your offensive options; avoid Devouring Plague unless you're pairing it with Inner Focus. Remember that you can always wand!
That said, don't be afraid to AoE as needed. Even if you're keeping Inner Fire up, you'll still find yourself taking a fair amount of damage. Mind Sear Freywinn when seedlings stack up, and Holy Nova only as many times as necessary to kill the spawned Lashers once they're out of Freywinn's Tranquility.
As mentioned, Freywinn and his seedlings will be putting out a good bit of damage - so heal yourself as required. As a deep Disc spec (54/17/0), a glyphed Penance should be sufficient. With Inner Fire up (non-glyphed), you'll can expect hits of 700-900 from Freywinn himself, at a similar level of gearing. The use of Holy Nova during Tranquility phases should be sufficient to negate the better part of Lasher damage.
Don't forget the mana regeneration options at your disposal. Between your Shadowfiend, Hymn of Hope, and any potions you may have at your disposal, luck willing you'll have the mana to ride out the encounter. The use of PW:Shield to negate damage as opposed to direct healing will also help in this department.
Your Shadowfiend in particular is a valuable addition here: remember that you can actively use Shadowcrawl to provide your Shadowfiend a 15% damage buff for the entire duration of its existance.
Above all, remember that Freywinn is immune to any and all damage while he's channeling Tranquility, and will only stop prematurely if the Lashers he spawns when he does so are killed. Don't waste a DP or Shadowfiend due to poor timing!

All in all, the fight should take no longer than 3 or 4 minutes. Your limiting factor here should be your mana - it'll take some time to find that happy medium between moderating your mana usage to last the fight, and dealing enough damage to take him down before healing becomes too much of a burden.

Just like to point out that as a lv 80 assasin(mutilate) rogue, i was able to stealth all the way to this boss, using distraction carefully on the mobs and pats, and then soloed him on my second try.

my strategy was to open with cold blood->mutilate, then immediately sprint to the edge of the bridge, then pop cloak of shadows (with glyph) and dps him down, and when cloak of shadows wears off, pop evasion, soon after he will go into tree of life and spawn adds, thats when i ran just around the corner and LOS them, and all the adds went down easily with 2 FoK attacks, then i just proceeded to finish off the boss (had a bout 8k left after that)

only buff i had was 80atp / 40stam food buff, although i would recommend bringing a couple runic healing pots to use if you get low, even though i did this without any.

hope this helps to any latecomer alchemists that need that book and cant convince guildies to run Bot.

I too ran this for alchemy because I didn't want to shell out the gold for primal might.

I soloed it as a beast master hunter with the crafted ilevel 187 pvp set and a Nesingwary 4000, spec set to make my pet a tank (take all talents to buff your pet at the cost of your own DPS).

This guy isn't that big a deal, let your pet pick up the adds with his thunderstomp and take them down as fast as you can. Pop all your cooldowns (bestial wrath, kill command, etc) and it should be no big deal.

When I fought him he only went into the channeled invulnerability mode where he heals himself once and it lasted maybe 15 seconds.

The first Botanica boss was also easy so if you're leveling alchemy this isn't really that bad to do if you're level 80.

All in all not too bad.

it was more difficult to get to her then killing it i would say if u are lock respec to destro dont clear anything arround that bridge use all ur trinkets or what ever u have and destroy her in 10s.

It's pretty weird that no one had noticed but he's the only blood elf in the game who's druid who CAN transform. Lorefact tells that there are blood elf druids but they cannot transform (we don't know if they actually chose not to or if they cant).

Here's a part I took from wowwiki Blood Elf (playable) section:
Contrary to popular belief, blood elves still have a strong affinity with nature, especially the Farstrider rangers. Like the quel'dorei before them, the sin'dorei have druids, but they are not the same as kaldorei or tauren druids; the blood elf variety of druids are closer to traditional "medieval" druids, working to conserve and maintain the natural environment of Quel'Thalas. While most cannot shape-shift, they share some of the same druid spells such as Speak with Plants. However, there is at least one shape-shifting druid (High Botanist Freywinn).

They must have done something here. I am a lvl 84 Rogue and cannot kill this boss. I have tried every suggestion here and they didn't work for me.
