I found Fallen Charger (930k HP) during a Venthyr Assault in The Maw (I don't know if the venthyr assault is a requeriment).
The Hourse spawns in Crucible of the Damned and run to The Tremaculum after that run all The Maw until despawn around Korthia entrance.
Has chance to drop the mount Fallen Charger's Reins.

Drops Fallen Charger's Reins. Can be killed as many times per day as you want for a chance at the mount.

Fallen Charger's Reins is obtained by a killing a rare spawn called Fallen Charger. This rare spawns around every very rarely, but around every 4 hours on average, in different locations depending on which assault is currently active. If a Venthyr or Night Fae Assault is up it'll spawn in Crucible of the Damned at around /way 16.27, 49.49 in the maw . Necrolord Assault is up it'll spawn out of the Altar of Domination at /way 27.9, 62.9. I am yet to discover where it spawns and it's route when a Kyrian assault is up.

Slowest I've seen: 14h
Most frequent: around 8h
Average: 6h 45m

It’ll make a zonewide announcement when it spawns saying: An Earsplitting whinny echoes across the maw as the fallen charger begins it’s ride

And when it reaches Korthia and despawns it’ll make another zonewide announcement saying: Fallen Charger releases a final mournful whinny as it fades away.

Venthyr Assault Route:
After spawning in Crucible of the damned It’ll run along to the Tremaculum, down past venari’s refuge, into the beastwarrens. It’ll pass by Desmotaeron, which is the new maw area in 9.1. And head for Korthia. If it reaches Korthia It’ll despawn. A big Star on your map will show you it’s current location all the time.

Also venthyr Assault Route:
Same starting point in Crucible of the Damned, this route it'll take the southern path. Basicly it just follows the most southern road on the map, but avoids going into Perdition's Hold, and despawns at the other entrance for Korthia.

Spawns at the Tremaculum is an even is active at Crucible of the damned.

Necrolord Assault Route:
Still working on a map.

Kyrian Assault Route:?

Night Fae Assault Route: Same as Venthyr. Spawns at the Tremaculum if an event is active at Crucible of the damned.

It runs rather fast, when mounted you possibly won’t be able to catch up to it if it gets ahead of you, but it will stop when engaged in combat. I suggest either standing right on top of the spawnpoint. I also recommend Have a Cypher of Relocation in your bags, in case it gets too far ahead of you, for a quick catchup at venari’s refuge. If you get in combat with it, you can move far away from where you got aggro, and it’ll reset back to the position where it got in combat.

Once you finally catch it, you’ll be engaged in a rather long and medium to easy difficulty fight. It’s got around 800k hp per person attacking. It’s got 3 Abilites. Crushing hooves which is basically a hard hitting tank mechanic. Fallen Riders is the ability you want to look out for. It’ll spawn ghost riders for each person in the encounter. These riders will fixate you, and if they reach you, they’ll most likely 1hit KO you with 46k dmg. The last ability is swiftness, and i have absolutely no idea what this does, cause I am a god at interrupts. So i guess if you’re bad you’ll know.

As for the dropchance I am still not sure. I recieved the mount on my first kill ever, but was the only one out of 3 ppl killing it. I've now killed it 4 times with 21ppl in total and seen 2 mounts drop including my own.

Was chillin out walking around as per usual and saw this dude, went to go fight it as my havoc dh 214 and I can say without a doubt, my butt was kicked into the next dimension. I'd highly suggest a group for this rare (this was day 1 of patch so of course things gonna annihilate me).

This was either at or just before 7pm ET on Kel'thuzad if anyone wanted to know.

This rare does not always spawn at the same location. In fact 2 out of 3 kills it spawned somewhere else so make sure you pay attention to the zone message to not miss it and get to it in time.
I did not get the mount yet but the droprate doesnt seem too bad ive seen 5 people in total get it.
The thing that makes this mount annoying is the long respawn rate.
Longest ive seen was 8h so it should be 1.5-8ish h propably an average of 6h from what ive heard of other players.

Resapwn is hard to calculate 1-10h on server. Can spawn in many places ( not only where you have assault ).

You have 2 ways to get him:

- Find raid farming group;
- Find Rare and make a raid to kill him and in the meantime, checking if anyone has found and join his group.

With 4 kills on this with nearly full raid groups, the results so far have been: 1 mount, 0 mounts, 3 mounts and 0 mounts.

Joined group, 39 raid. Raid leader waited 9.5 hours, i waited with them almost 6h, soo i belive them. Out of 39 pep, we got 0 mounts. It spawns in different locations.

I joined a 39 player raid group tonight, and it spawned at Crucible of the Damned. The mount dropped for me and one other player. I think the group had been waiting for about 4-5 hours total.

31 tries so far and I still don't have the mount, to me the best place to camp for the rare is on the northernmost bridge near the Tremaculum, you're near 3 common spawn points.
The only downside is you're far from the Perdition Hold and Night Fae Assault points but I've found the rare spawns more frequently where I camp it which is near the second bridge, in the Tremaculum or near Ve'nari's refuge.

Decided to try and wait for this mount out of curiosity. Am almost 8 hours in without a spawn in the zone. This is not fun.

Update: He spawned on the 8 hour mark (17:00 exactly) at crucible. Full 40 man raid. 0 mounts.

Best way to get his mount is to camp by yourself while looking through LFG for a group that has it up. No point in joining a wait group and camp for 6+ hours when you can be camping on your own server and make one if the rare spawns, or join one if someone else have it.

Groups have been filling up incredibly fast since it's new content, so look up ''fallen'' in Custom and hit refresh as often as possible.

I created a weakaura that automatically lists a group in the group finder when fallen charger spawns.

Then u put your number of attempts u are already on.
For a chance (how likely this item appears to drop) it should be between 25 to 33.

This thing spawned on top of me in the Tremaculum while doing the Venthyr assault. There were 2 other people nearby who started to attack it immediately, so I frantically made a group to get people in on the kill. However, he kept evading and resetting, and eventually ran off out of sight before I could even get anyone to my location. =/

Wanted to confirm, you can do him multiple times per day. I was lucky enough to loot the reins on my second kill today. Good luck everyone.

Anyone who knows any addon that makes it a bit quicker to join groups through LFG finder? I'm having such a hard time even getting invited to any Fallen Charger UP group.

Got this yesterday on Farstriders. I had joined a raid and waited a couple of hours for the Charger to spawn and became impatient. I dropped group and was in the zone for a bit farming (maybe a half hour or so) when the zone announcement for the Charger occurred. It spawned at the crucible and I caught up with it at the Tremaculum, where a Horde raid had engaged it. I chipped in and got the drop on the first kill. I have no idea what the drop rate is, but I'm pretty sure I owe the RNG gods a blood sacrifice or something... Happy hunting folks, and good luck!

Another confirmation that you can farm it on a single character multiple times a day. Just got it on my paladin's 6th kill today. Stand near the center of Maw and use the group finder, that's your best bet. Good luck!

I've seen 4 spawns so far while just doing random stuff in the maw. Every time it spawned, the time was exactly 5 minutes before a new hour, in my case it was 19.55 three times and once 20.55. I didn't see the exact spawn point but every time I was able to intercept it around the tremaculum bridge at 37.0 31.8.

On a side note; Every time I saw the spawn I engaged it before making a group and within seconds I had 40-50 applicants. Only way to make it fair is to just spam invite from the top of the list, since auto-invite doesn't work. If you don't get invited, don't spam toxic whispers to the leader...

Got it today after 17 kills (all today), so you can do it multiple times a day on the same char. It was quite easy to get into groups, took me 2 hours for 17 kills.
Venthyr assault was up and it spawned around the center of The Tremaculum. Sometimes it was already running in the direction of Ven'ari, sometimes he was going to the west, few times he was almost at Korthia. Best place to wait -imo- is just outside the Tremaculum in the direction of Ven'ari and spam the search button in your group finder.

Just a heads up, if anyone didn't see the news: this rare is being hotfixed some time today to act as a normal Maw/Korthia rare with standard Maw/Korthia loot (Stygia, rep, Korthian Armaments) and a daily loot lockout, in order to prevent people from feeling like they need to spam group finder for additional attempts.

To compensate, the drop rate for the mount is being tripled, which should put it at 15% based on wowhead's numbers.

Have this guy recently been stealth buffed the last few days.

Stumbled upon it the other day on my hunter and had my pet tank it, while I got people, and it easily did so for 5-10 min.
Met it again today and did the same thing. Suddely my pet could hardly take 4-5 hits before it died, which resulted in me ending up dying after around 30 sec. I then had to chase it down, which almost resulting in it reaching the end and despawn. Luckily at this time I had got like 4-5 guys in back up.

But still this is a really weird jump in strenght.

Joined a grp of 35 ppl camping it. Waited about 45 minutes then people started leaving because it was late. We were left with about 12 people and five minutes later the world emote "Fallen Charger releases a final mournful whinny as it fades away" sounded indicating it had spawned at precisely 22:04:07 server time on Argent Dawn. We were running around like headless chickens trying to find it lol. I managed to find it and pin the map location for the raid. We went slow so as many people could tag it as possible (even outside of our raid) and 6 of us in our raid got it.
Was a big wow moment.
I have a theory why soo many of us got it though. Was perhaps because soo many people left.
so 12 -15 people might be optimal. this is pure speculation and I have no way to test it sorry.
GL to you all, keep the optimism up as looks like a decent loot drop split.

Finally got this mount after about 11 kills. Just a few things: Though it was a Necrolord covenant assault, it did not spawn at the Altar of Domination. I caught up to it in Zovaal's Cauldron which suggests to me that it spawned in the crucible, but I can only say for certain it didn't spawn in Perdition Hold because that was where I was waiting. Also I noted in my previous efforts that if it was killed, the spawn time was much longer than if it escaped. I saw multiple spawns a little more than an hour apart in which case I had chased some to their despawn, but those I participated in killing were followed by multiple hour waits for the next spawn. Hope this is helpful to those still trying. Good Luck to all! And I really think that like the unicorn mounts, these mounts need to be able to fly!

Just want to comment that he spawned on my server and I did not get a message in my chat about it - it can apparently happen and I assume it's a bug (I've reported it).
I was standing near Ve'nari's Refuge (not inside it), waiting for it to spawn and only got the notification that it died. The other players in the zone had gotten the spawn message.

Potential issue with this: I got the zone message announcing the Fallen Charger's arrival and I just happened to be right in his spawn area at the time. This was during the Night Fae covenant assault, that I had completed the prior day, but I and a couple of other players could not see the rare at all. A few minutes later we got the 2nd message announcing he was either dead or had escaped to Korthia. Has anyone else encountered this issue while the covenant assault is active in the spawn area?

I really wish, this thing would spawn a star on the map when it comes up, been trying to get it all 9.1, and it either glitches and doesn't do the zone message only doing the death whinny. Or you're waiting 6+ hours only for it to despawn or get killed. Either let it spawn and vibe, or have it spawn every hour, or take it off the damn achievement meta. I don't even care about the mount at this point! This is a terrible rare, and I just don't have time to sit around and wait for it to spawn for the 3 minutes its up.

Truly cruel, whoever designed this to not only take upwards of 14 hours to spawn, but to have multiple spawn points and the ability to despawn if no one tags as it runs away. Extremely cruel. To anyone deciding to farm this after Shadowlands when the Maw is much more deserted than it already is and there will be next to zero groups popping up in the lfg to announce its spawning: good luck.

Didnt know how to get this rare, i was scared after reading the comments.

Tried to wait for him and then i saw a group in LFG "Fallen Charger wait", Joined, waited for like 2 hours and got the achievement. They were very nice and invited to a community called "Fallen Charger" Hope this helps.

Saddly didnt get the mount and not sure if i will try it again xD.

Worst rare camp ever. It can spawn randomly anywhere, takes forever to spawn, and the percentage of getting the mount truly isn't worth it. Raise the drop chance or make the spawn time lower and more consistent.

This is probably the most absurdly designed BS rare Blizz has ever put into the game imo. It makes TLPD look like a cakewalk. Yeah, TLPD has a low chance of spawning, and also patrols a large area, but he wont despawn randomly if not tagged. Truly, camping this rare is a goddamn nightmare, and I'd like to slap the *!@# out of whoever decided to make it spawn all over a zone with no flying (and no mounts at all unless you unlock them on every single alt) AND despawn if it is not tagged. %^&*ing cruel %^&*.

Just killed during Venthyr Assault on the Tremaculum. He spawned at approx 24, 24 under the bridge. He headed west past the Hulking Enforcer elite on the hill and I tagged at top of hill next to bridge.
Have also seen it spawn at Crucible of the Damned at approx 18, 50 at the top of the stairs during Necrolord Assault on Perdition Hold.

Not sure if it's relevant or RNG, but in a raid of 30 people, I was lead and had 2 assists. We were the only 3 that looted it.

I've had a hard time narrowing down spawns, so hopefully this helps someone. I can't say those are always the spawn points during those invasions, but it's better than nothing. Cheers and good luck on the drop, boys!

Got it today (well, yesterday since it is past midnight) after 11 kills. Timers for the past few days were on a longer side, i.e.:
22.10.2022 - 16 hrs
23.10.2022 - 10 hrs
24.10.2022 - 8 hrs
25.10.2022 - 8 hrs

On previous kills I was joining groups when it was already up.

Got it during Venthyr Assault, 3 of those spawns were around Tremaculum, last one in the middle of the map, so it is not 100% accurate that it spawns accordingly to the current assault.

Best way confirmed is to get a great camping group and focus on chatting and spending time with people, rather than counting every minute passing by. Good luck all!

Edit: Oh and another I think important thing is that there is no fixed amount of drops per group. After the 16 hrs wait 9 people out of 27 got it, while on my last kill it dropped for onyl 4 people out of 40, including myself

Dunno if it helps but here is my version of what went down. This was during a Kyrian assault.

Long story short, we were at the Tremaculum fortress waiting for a Kel Thuzad mini-event when i heard the map ping sound and saw a star appear on the minimap,
on or near the bridge right next to the fort. It was the Fallen Charger, heading southwest. So me and the group gave chase and tried to head it off,
going around the pit south of the Tremaculum, we intercepted it on the road at about X: 23,70 Y:38,90 if i remember correctly. Two players looted the mount.

Frostmane - EU @ approx 01:00 GT

I was questing in Maulers Overlook in Korthia when Fallen Charger popped up on my rare scanner. Hauled myself over to the Maw to try catch it, but it despawned before I had a chance to grab him. Because he had despawned and not been killed, he was due to respawn an hour later - so took this opportunity to get together a large raid group and camp out for him.

Perfectly timed, he respawned at exactly 01:00 up at The Tramaculum during the Venthry assault. Eleven mount drops and a lot of happy collectors!

I can confirm, if the fallen charger despawns - he will spawn exactly an hour later!

Not sure if its helpful, but when it spawned during the Kyrian Assault I couldn't find it, so I engineer ported down to Korthia to try and head it off. Took the whole southern route through the beastwarrens back to the bridges, only for it to still fade away. Must take the northern route through the beastwarrens by desmotaeron.

During the NF Assault, it spawned, my rare scanner pinged in Perdition Hold. Couldnt find it so I mounted and went as fast as I could to in front of Desomotareon. It ran into me at 52,64 on the road right before the quest pops for "Containing the Helsworn".

So I found it. Today it was necrolord assault and some comments said that it spawns on the Crucible of the Damned so I went there. It didn't.
I wen all the way in the Maw from the Crucible and found it on 36.1, 48.2 near Zovaal's Cauldron. I also got the mount on the first try and it's soloable on your 70 char.

Ok so here's the thing:

1. I've killed this horse 12 times and didn't drop for me, so yes, the drop rate isn't fair and you'll spend a lot of time waiting and killing this horse for nothing
2. the fastest spawn time i get it was 1 hour and the biggest one was 16 hours, it's random and you can have bad luck like i had and someone kill it before you.
3. Even tough it has two path to run, every 12 times i killed the horse it ran only in one path, the path where it passes through Ve'nari's Refuge.
4. Do this only if you have patience, time and not have anxiety because this will make you crazy.

I got it on my 4th try.
1. Best way for me to farm was in the morning because when the horse despawn near kortia it respawn exactly 1 hour later again,
most time in the night the horse wasn't killed and spawn every hour again so u wait max 1hour most of the time.
2. When the horse spawn u see it in the chat. Stay or run to the spot: /way 46.06 62.26
& make a macro /tar Fallen Charger and spam it (or use silverdragon or other addons), u cant miss him there!

Wow. The mob is as fast as I am - making it impossible to catch if you're chasing it outside range of your abilities. Add random mobs dazing you to make sure you never catch up and it gets even better. Brilliant game design!

Seen this NPC a whole TWO times so far, once it got killed by some rando just before I could tag it, second time I chased it until it despawned. Such utter nonsense.

So, now that I have gotten this mount finally I'm going to share my info on camping this guy to give the rest of you a much easier time. The Maw now resets since we are in DF, So get the addon Npc time. Visit the maw and check the assault Npcs, if they have brand new spawn times you're good to go. Fallen charger will ALWAYS pop 1 hour into a fresh maw reset. Happy camping.

The spawn location of the Fallen Charger will vary based on the currently active Maw assault. Below are locations I have personally observed the Fallen Charger spawning at.

Useful gadgets
The following gadgets can be very useful for catching the Fallen Charger

Cyper of Relocation - Cypher of Relocation
This will return you to Ve'nari's Refuge. If you have unlocked the ability to travel to various Maw locations, this can allow you to quickly relocate to another possible spawn point.

Borr-Geth's Fiery Brimstone - Borr-Geth's Fiery Brimstone
When combined with the Goblin Glider kit (or the engineering tinker), this can allow you to get to the Fallen Charger if you can see it on the map but can't yet target it.

Recommendations

Install the RareScanner addon and ensure you have configured it to make a very noticeable sound for spawns
When you see the message about it spawning, don't panic! First check your immediate location. If it isn't there, check the paths it can take according to Rarescanner
Once you've picked your spawn location, don't leave the area until you either get bored, see it spawn or receive the zonewide announcement
Prepare something to do outside of game. Leave the game running and open with sounds on, but don't sit staring at it (unless you want to).

Etiquette
Due to the way this rare behaves, it has some etiquette associated with it. These aren't rules as such, but other players seeking the mount will appreciate it.

If you find the Fallen Charger, tag it in order to stop it running. Then, let people know in general chat - please link a map pin in the message, as this is significantly more useful than just a location name.

Slow DPS. Tag it, and then wait. Allow people at least 3 minutes after sending your message for them to arrive. Give people a 2-minute warning in general chat before you start nuking it.

Stop your pets from attacking! Not only do they taunt, but they are simply adding extra damage onto a rare that is now exceptionally easy to kill.

If the Fallen Charger is in an area with mobs, try to move it somewhere safer but don't let it leash/reset. Players that are level 50+ may be trying to get to it, so try to make it as safe as possible for everyone.

Incorrect. I have observed spawn times in excess of 8 hours.

Are spawn times shared across shards or realms?
No. I have observed it spawning in a WM-on shard in the Tremaculum, and then 10 minutes later, spawning in Perdition Hold in a WM-off shard.

How fast does the Fallen Charger move?
It runs at approximately the same speed as a Paladin on a ground mount while using Crusader Aura.
The only way to catch it is by cutting it off on its path.

Someone told me that the spawn location variance doesn't apply outside of assaults
There is always an assault active, except for approximately 3 minutes between assaults (while the server is setting up the new assault), so their point is irrelevant.
