Shizgher is stood near the treasure location Tamed Gladerunner at Mistveil Tangle - Ardenweald (26.35, 59.00). Defeating Shizgher allows you to click the Subdued Runner to obtain the mount Shimmermist Runner.

Shizgher respawn time: couple of mins

To engage Shizgher you have to go through the maze at Mistveil Tangle in a specific path. As Unholypriest stated in his comment, a scroll hanging from a tree at (31.51, 53.02) tells you how to do the maze. The blue lamps at each gateway indicate where you have to go.
Below the steps to go through the maze. This imgur album shows every step with the map on which way to go.

Enter the Maze in Oaken Assembly on (31.04, 54.51).
On the 1st intersection at (29.60, 55.76) go LEFT/SOUTH-EAST.
On the 2nd intersection at (30.02, 57.49) go RIGHT/SOUTH-WEST.
On the 3rd intersection at (29.56, 57.91) go LEFT/SOUTH.
On the 4th intersection at (29.31, 59.10) go RIGHT/NORTH-WEST.
On the 5th intersection at (28.82, 58.71) go FORWARD/NORTH-WEST.
On the 6th and last intersection at (27.56, 57.85) go LEFT/WEST into the Area.
You can now engage Shizgher.

I solo'd Shizgher at level 60 with an avg ilvl of 135. He will use three abilities where you can interrupt one. His abilities are:

Pantsed!: 30% Movement speed slow/10% Damage taken.
Swift Slash: DoT effect.
Shrink (Interruptable): 15% Damage reduction.

After defeating Shizgher you can click Shimmermist Runner and the mount Shimmermist Runner will be put in your bags.

Shizgher related to Shimmermist Runner mount.
Shimmermist Runner is the reward for encounter in Ardenweald.

Location: 26.56 59.22

There are two mobs you can see from afar at the spot - Shizgher and Shimmermist Runner.
Unfortunately they disappear when you get close if you didnt use specific path through the maze.
The correct path can be found in a scroll on a tree at 31.49 53.03.

Roguezs made an awesome post and there's almost nothing to add, only need to notice the place is quite dangerous.
There are multiple elite mobs along the path and rather make no stop there (and pray to do not get dazed).
You may bring potions of invisibility to skip some mobs, it might help but I guess it not.
Also beware Valfir the Unrelenting if someone left it with no buff so it will attack on sight.

Should be able to solo if you've got some defensives (or a means of healing), was able to do so with a iLvl 140 WW Monk.

You can bring others along but they will only see the rare, and be able to claim the mount if they did the maze correctly. If you die at any point and likely respawn at Tirna Scithe you can run back through the maze and Shizgher will still be there. After rare is killed click on the horse and enjoy your mount!

Be aware if "Swarm Defense" world quest is up some wasp mobs can spawn right on top of your fight zone where you are killing this rare, they hurt a lot.

May have been hotfixed, but he now respawns 1-2 mins after dying. I just killed him with a group, and then a minute later he respawned, and someone else started to kill him. After that player killed him, he spawned 20 seconds later. So perhaps they removed the 1-2 hour respawn.

Hi all

Small guide How to get Shimmermist Runner in Ardenweald. You can get this mount in 10 min O_o, You need to kill 1 rare mob but to get to him you have to go through the maze in the right way in Mistveil Tangle. I add My Video, You can see in 2 modes path first is normal 2nd is death mode ( is no mobs and you can ease see with gate you need to move to plan it ).

You just need to do 2 steps:

Step 1 -

You need to do it in specific path. You have 7 correct gates they are lit with a bright white light. Don't fight with any mobs just get to the and how fast you can ( is to many mobs most rare and solo you can die )

Very important If You will do it wrong You need to start from Gate 1.

Start:
1 Gate - 30.9 54.6 go straight
2 Gate - 29.6 56.1 on left
3 Gate - 29.9 57.7 first on right
4 Gate - 29.4 58.5 first on left
5 Gate - 29.0 58.9 first on right
6 Gate - 28.2 58.1 third gate from the left
7 Gate - 27.1 58.2 2nd gate from left

After last gate will be a large square if you able to see Shizgher it means that you did it correctly. Next to him will be Shimmermist Runner.

Step 2:

Now you need to kill Shizgher I done it solo I think every one can do it solo ( dont use fear on Him He can get out side mape and restart I Had like that xD ). When you will kill Him press on Shimmermist Runner and in your bag will land Shimmermist Runner.

You can get this mount in 10 min

I was wondering how everyone was soloing this, as I was getting obliterated by the mobs in the maze. I then realized I believe it has to do with the world quest A Night in the Woods. So if you plan on doing this, watch out for this world quest.

As a lvll 60 Frost mage ilvl 149, fighting Shizgher is very hard. Maybe its because the world quest is up, like the previous commenter, but either way come prepared to be annoyed

It appears that if you die while in the maze, you must completely leave the area past the beginning of the maze with the large area of adds before the tunnel before you can begin again. I died inside and ghost walked back inside, but it still disappeared everything as if I had done the wrong doors. Had to completely leave and make it through alive the whole way in order to see the mob and the mount.

If you are unable to see Shizgher because he phases out, you'll need to go back to /way 32.54, 53.05 and read the hanging scroll, then back through the maze and kill him.

The Tale of the Tangle scroll at /way 32.54 53.05 reads:

In the tangle your eyes may deceive you. That which seems close is hidden behind a veil of mist.
Try as you might the outcome will be the same. Those who dare venture alone oft' become lost to time itself.
Hope only lies in awareness. The tangle hides many secrets only for the most acute.
Let the light guide your way. Passage through the veil has already begun.

Note that clicking on the scroll takes you out of stealth, and there is an elite right next to the scroll.

When I was in the maze I could see the NPC from one room ahead, but as soon as I zoned in he disappeared along with the mount.

If this happens, this simply means that you did not do the maze correctly.

I ran back to the start and began again, making sure I had the blue glow on my character as I was doing the maze, going through the rooms that had blue lamps in them.

When I came back he appeared and didn't zone out.

However I was unable to solo him as a fresh level 60 sub rogue with ilvl 135 gear on, so will try again either with guild or after getting better gear.

soloed this jerk as a 156 mm hunter. sent in pet and just used mend pet until he cast shrink, counter shot, then began dps. STAY ON THOSE INTERRUPTS. interrupts are going to be key to beating this guy. interrupt, mend pet, resume dps, casting mend pet every time it was off cd. my first try was a tenacity pet which didnt work out well for either of us, but on the second go, i used a ferocity pet and nailed it.

Click the scroll at /way 32.54, 53.05 before you enter the maze, else you may not be able to see Shizger to kill him for the mount.

176k hp, easily soloable at 180 ilvl.
To figure out the route yourself, only go through passageways that have a blue lantern, or no lantern.
Do not enter passageways that have a red or purple lantern.

Don't make my mistake and rush to the maze as soon as you unlock Ardenweald quests. I went there as a Lvl 57 and I was unable to see the mob or the mount NPC once I reached the encounter area. I'm fairly sure you have to be Lvl 60 to do this event!

Note: you must click the note to be eligible to engage the rare. We did the route about 6 times correctly but it failed because we didin't click first.

Zone: Ardenweald - Mistveil Tangle
Coordinates: 32.5 51.9 - Start Point

To get the Mount Shimmermist Runner you have to go through the maze-like Mistveil Tangle west of Root-home. It's best to exit Root-home north, directly past the flight master.
Follow the path and then turn left. From far away you can already see the passage from where you can start.
On the left after the passage is a note on the tree, the Tale of the Tangle. After you have read it you can start. Turn around and go through the passage directly opposite.
It is important to walk the right way now. There are 1-2 lamps at each passage, they have to glow blue, not red.
After the first passage, follow the path to the left, then to the right, then left again, then to the right, then straight ahead (the right of the two passages) and then through the left passage you see.
Now you have to defeat Shizgher. After that you can click Shimmermist Runner and you will get Shimmermist Runner.

Here are the waypoints:

/way 32.9 47.7 - starting point from distance
/way 32.5 51.1 - starting point
/way 32.5 53.1 - note on the tree
/way 31.1 54.5 - 1st passage
/way 29.6 56.1 - 2nd passage - go left
/way 29.9 57.7 - 3rd passage - go right

/way 29.1 58.9 - 5th passage - go right
/way 28.2 58.2 - 6th passage - go straight (the right of the two passages)

Ok, so after much research and finding people solo'ing this dude at level 60, I figured I'd give it a go on my fury warrior (level 53, draenei, bastion covenent). Using all of my cooldowns, I managed to just barely down him on my first attempt.

Interrupt his Shrink spell (timing worked out with the CD of my interrupt).
Popped CD's at the start, then was able to pop them again towards the end.
He bounces back and forth from in front of you to behind you, so pay attention to his movement if casting.
He doesn't do overly powerful damage if he doesn't get Shrink off, but it can wear you down quickly if you don't have a heal available and it adds up quickly.

Anyway, good luck to those of you who want to solo him before level 60. Know that you can totally do it!

This guy kept stomping me as a feral druid at iLevel 148. He was hitting me for about 1/5th of my health on a regular basis. I was trying the bleed and lead tactic of kiting him around after applying my dots. He has a charge attack where he jumps to you no matter where you are, and his "shrink" ability needs interrupting so you need to stay close to him.
Barkskin, healing, vortex, roots, etc... All of my utility and he would stomp me.

Switched over to bear and took him down without issue. If a 10+ minute fight isn't an issue... I was able to sustain his hits and heal myself just fine. Just make sure to look out for the yellow mobs around the perimeter of the fighting area. If you pick one of them up, you're doomed. They're all elites and hit even harder than the boss.

About halfway through my fight, another druid showed up in the clearing but he couldn't see Shizgher (didn't go the right path through the forest), so he just stood there and healed me until I was done.

Why does it seem that all Tauren Druids are so nice?

Anyways, annoying fight, but easy mount... Good luck everyone!

Have been waiting half an hour, along with an Alliance player. I'm level 60 Disc Priest, ilvl 174. Really hoping it's not going to take 2 hours.

My iLvl 146 sub rogue was handily unable to deal with Shizgher - if you're playing a class that doesn't have the luxury of a tank spec, be aware that you probably can't solo this without solid gear. (Or better gear than I have, anwyay.)

Keeps phazing out during the Wild hunt daily even if you have completed it. I saw both that NPC and the horse but everytime I got close they disappeared

I have been on this quest for a while, I just didn't know it. I clicked that letter months ago and didn't know what it was and I had my mind on other stuff so I didn't look it up and moved on. But whenever I was in that area in the weeks ahead I would head strange "bing bong!" noises in my headphones. I guess if you pass through a checkpoint 6 weeks later it still counts. So today I got the waypoints and mount so the bing bongs would go away.

Easy if your class has a pet ... for my Lock it was DOTs, heal Voidwalker and repeat.

Confirmed in patch 9.1 you can complete it while flying to avoid mobs. Just make sure to fly through each gate to get the credit.
