I just got it by spamming "/tar Elusive Quickhoof" and finding it.

It spawned at 54, 82 in Vol'dun, near Temple of Akunda, and walked down the path that leads south, and then went back up, before kicking whoever was around and ran off in the same place that it spawned.
It seemed like it only stayed around for a few minutes, so one other person was able to get it before it ran away.

(Make sure to have Seaside Leafy Greens Mix in your inventory so that you can feed him and get him as a mount.)

~~I do not know the re-spawn timer yet, but I watched where it spawned and de-spawned. I do not know if this is the only place it spawns.~~

Buy Seaside Leafy Greens Mix (you'll only need one) to feed Elusive Quickhoof when you find him.
He's up for 10 minutes after its spawn. You can search and feed him while in a raid group.
Respawn time appears to be several hours.

Had mine spawn at the temple of akunda right next to the flightmaster. It stays in place here not sure if walks around in the other locations but I assume that it remains in one place with the other spawns. best advice I can give for getting this cutie pick up the food first check the spawns if nothing is in them head to group finder people have been very kind posting groups when it goes live.

I must say, i was having a pretty terrible day, but getting this mount totally made my mood change.. Watching her jump while running and also the /mountspecial just cracked me up.

I was supposed to be grinding rep in Voldun, but instead i have been running in circles on my new mount giggling for the past hour and a half.

Just got it myself at Terrace of the Devoted (26.4 52.5) Farstriders 6:10am EST. It sticks around so whoever gets to it before it despawns can feed it and claim it. I made a group and got about 15 people the mount before it ran off towards the ocean (lol). Make sure to make a group so others can get it as well! Good luck everyone :D

Oh and the mount special and jump is just precious.

So, After camping/farming this VERY elusive beastie for nearly 6 hours, we finally got it at 55 74. A large group of us stayed for a long time and we chatted and had a blast. At one point we were talking about the mounts we had and someone said something about the astral mount. So i reached over and clicked on my astral cloud serpent. Except I was very high up in the air. So then I wasn't. I fell to my death. I drank lots of coffee. Skye was trying to pick up on one of those desert dwellers I'm sure. Out there among the dunes.Someone went crazy and started killing the lost alpacas that were roaming around. I started telling stories as if I were reading from a journal. "Day 10021 of the alpaca. Coffee ran out ten days ago. I've started braiding my leg hair." Another group member came back with: "Day 10021 of the alpaca. Altiera has started braiding her leg hair. its awkward." Much fun was had. We now have a discord group. We also have the ever elusive alpaca mount! Happy hunting alpaca farmers. Don't give up!

Edited to add: It was only up for about 3 to 5 mins. He was walking UP the mountain pathway. He would stop for several seconds and let people feed him, then he'd carry on. When he got to the top of the path he stood for a few seconds then he de-spawned. He's solid grey with no adornment of any kind. Once you have the mount its got a nifty sadle with decoration. I found him less than half hour after the previous phased group found theirs. It was in the same spot. I carried extra feed just in case someone needed it. But really, don't forget to get yours from the tortollans before you go to farm. You won't make it back in time if you have to go get some. Some people showed up and they weren't in the group. They could see it, but they could not trade with us to take the feed. They missed out. Be prepared. Mostly, be patient and don't give up. Also, be nice in those farming groups. You might meet some really cool friends!

I got super-lucky and had it spawn around 30 min. in at 28 64, it despawned super fast ( around 2-3 min uptime ) but I was lucky enough to feed it in time, people in my raid group were theorizing that it's despawn has to do with how many people feed it/are around it, rather than timed.

I was actually the leader of one of these 40-Man groups (Thursdayxo) and waited for almost 4 hours, the original people who waited would've been 5 hours... This wait was making me go insane and I'm so glad I didn't give up. We fed it, and it did stay for around 10 minutes! I invited a bunch of people and a lot of people were lucky to get it. :) Had a good time in the group. I would definitely choose looking for groups rather than trying to do it solo. He is not a blue exclamation mark on the map like the Alpaca in Uldum is, you have to physically look for him. Good luck :)

For those who find it and want to create a custom group to assist others, or people joining a group, once he spawns he as a debuff timer on him. It counts down so that it can be see how much longer he will stay active and able to be fed; I'm unsure how long the buff lasted, as he had 6 minutes left when a friend and I found him and started a group. Some addons (one person who joined mentioned ElvUI) that don't allow people to see the debuff on him, but it can be used to figure out how much time is left.

Once the debuff on the alpaca is gone, he kicks anyone near him away and runs off, unable to be interacted with. He occasionally does pause in his walking, but from what we saw it doesn't seem to be impacted much by players speaking to him.

Spawned today after ~6 hours 10min of camping.
So what we got now is a spawn time from 2 hours to 6 hours+.
And guys remember, when it spawn list a group and start the invites, I did and i think i got a lot of people happy. :)

I just got my beautiful Elusive Alpaca in a raid group! He spawned at 52,89 at the Temple of Akunda. He did not pat, he just sat down on the floor.

Just found at the pond just NW of Temple of Akunda (50.76, 86.10) on Mal'Ganis at 15:55 server time (January 19), despawned at 16:05. Some in our raid group had done the Uldum alpaca first, and they DID get the Vul'dun alpaca mount in the same day (had read that you couldn't get both in the same day). We farmed about 2 hours for it, not sure when the previous spawn was so unable to comment on spawn time. Good luck!

War mode matters. When it spawned my party member who found it had war mode on. Some of us had war mode off and we could not see it. I hearthed to Dalaran, took portal to Stormwind, set war mode on, took portal to Boralus, boat to Voldun, and flew back to see it and complete with about 20s to spare.

The alpaca has a debuff "Wanderlust" which shows how much time is remaining.

Tukuku sells Seaside Leafy Greens Mix at 62, 20.8 in Tortaka Refuge, you only need 1 but it comes in a stack of 5 anyway.

People, don't be stupid like me and don't do the following two mistakes:

Need to feed it only once, not several times like Alpaca in Uldum.
Don't feed it before talking to it. I missed it twice (was feeding like hell, and did not get the mount), before understanding that we need to do the dialog with the NPC, and only then feed it.

Hello all,

I would like to say that the Elusive Quickhoof can be phased out by World Quests.

Today at 21:32 on EU Realms, it had spawned at 31.10, 67.18 near the World Quest " A few more Charges " but we could not actually interact with it as the world quest was phasing it out.

I had raised ticket to Blizzard and hopefully they will look into this.

For now, make sure you do all world quests before starting the camp as I am not sure Blizzard will do anything to fix this, as after all, they have proven to not care about $%^& recently.

Just got her at 40,72 - South West of Atul'aman. We had a 20 man raid going, with everyone sitting on a spawn point, and we only camped her for 3 hours! So thankful we didn't have to wait the full 6 hours. We had such a large group and we all stayed for the whole time, talking and telling jokes while we waited. It was a blast. It didn't even feel like 3 hours! She spawned at 2:00pm CST, on Area 52, Horde. She also spawns without a quest marker on her head, and has a friendly character (green name). So she will NOT show up on your minimap, like the Friendly Alpaca does in Uldum. Once she spawns, you just talk to her and feed her the "Seaside Leafy Greens Mix", which you can buy from various vendors. The one I went to was a Tortollan npc named Keato in Dazar'alor, located in the Tortollan area (where you hand in your weekly TW quest) down by the boat area. You only need to feed her once like the posts above say, and then POOF she's all yours! She's also only up for 10 minutes, and has a debuff/buff showing the remaining time left before she despawns. Also, the Seaside Leafy Greens are not tradeable across servers. I hope this helps! :)

After reading some comments in here that the spawn timer is 6 hours 10 minutes i tried it, I barely missed him this morning at around 2:35AM, after that i decided to check back around 6 hours later. He finally spawned at 8:35AM and despawned at 8:45AM.

Got him tonight on Garona-US at 12:15 AM server time (CST) after camping for 7 hours and 10 minutes in a 40-man group. He spawned at 55,73 and started slowly walking up the path. He seemed to despawn exactly 5 minutes after being fed.

Group of 20-25 people. Took 3-4 hours all camped at the spawns.

/way 31.1 67.3 was where he spawned for 10mins. Everyone was able to make it to Quickhoof, talk to him and loot the mount!.

Making sure you have all your spawns covered is crucial. It's a waiting game from there on!

Found outside Temple of Akunda (52.6, 89.2) sat happily near the corner - this seems a popular spot, along with the mid-map watering hole. Can confirm that Elusive Quickhoof does show up on beast tracking with a green dot from a good distance, so flying around on a hunter is a good way to look for it (bear in mind there are other green beasts near some spawn areas, like this one). Rare scanning add-ons don't seem to pick it up. Don't forget your Seaside Leafy Greens!

Found it today at 30 63.20 patrolling the path. I think the despawn is really fast, my friends without flying couldn't make it. I took the coords from Bodomi's post and it takes about 5 minute to travel the whole route. I used my flight whistle at the end and started over about 20 times. Took about 2 hours of searching.

Got this tonight after about 4 hours at 54, 53 (Vulpera Hideaway) - highly recommend starting a raid group in premades and having everyone sit on the spawn points, it was super helpful! Also, I'm sure someone has said this, but the brutosaur AH mount sells the greens if anyone in the group is missing them. Good luck everyone!

Is this rare spawn like some others that will not spawn for the first 48 hours after a server reset? Can I camp him on Tuesday or Wednesday or do I need to wait for the weekend?

Today was a day of great joy for me, when I joined a group in LFG finder for this beauty.

I had expected to camp it out for a long ass time, when suddenly after I had only been waiting 10-15 minutes, our RL lost his marbles and chat became alight with "COME" "COME TO ME" "IT'S HERE" and 10 people scrambled to get there, some of us with no flying in a great panic.

We all got it, and even summoned some folks that joined when we arrived there as we had a lock make it, too. Truly a fantastic mount, and in my opinion, the best alpaca you can get <3

Just joined to the freshly created camping group. I've taken 3 spots on the west side of Vol'dun (flying around). After around 20 minutes it spawned right in front of me at the top of the mountain (31, 67).

If you wondering, my SilverDragon poped out when I hover on alpaca, not on spawn.

It spawned for me today at the sanctuary of the devoted (on the balcony on top where the npcs are, not on the bottom on the beach where I thought it would spawn) It had 4 min left on the timer when I got there and despawned at 16.17 server time. Sanctuary was my starting point and I flew through all spawning points to the other side of the map ending on vulpera hideway. Then I reversed my route to sanctuary of the devoted again. Been flying this route for about an hour I think. The whole path took me 4 minutes from one side to the other on a 310% flying mount. I advertised in general and a 2 people came but I don't know if they had the greens to feed it. I was also up in premades but sadly no one responded (not for the camping and not for when I had actually found it, displayed with timers and all).

Also I used a target macro. I added it's id into rarescanner but it didn't go off, even after I had targeted it. I almost missed the target on my screen because I was expecting a warning to go off as soon as I had it targetted.

We farmed the Elusive Quickhoof in just a group of two and split the spawn points between us, using Atul'Aman as the middle point and one taking North spawns, the other taking South. With it having a short spawn rate if not clicked and not enough people to cover each area, we found this the easiest method.

It took around three and a half hours before we finally got a spawn, put a group up and shared to discord - lots of happy mount collectors!

Farmed this mount yesterday on an RP server. It took slightly over 9 hours to spawn. We had every spawn point covered, and used the addon "NPCtime" to confirm the shard layer was brand new when we got there.

Just found him drinking water in the Whistlebloom Oasis (a little lower than the Handynotes BFA icon).
Would have totally missed it if I wasn't a hunter. Saw a green dot on my map and to my surprise there it was :)

I wanted to update a few things as I've camped this....

Silver dragon will go off if you add its code. It is slightly delayed.

Also, it can go past the 6 hr mark by 10 minutes. It popped for my friends at 5:33est and then for us at 11:43est. Best of luck to future campers.

Don't do it solo. Make a group! People still want the mount.
