Sometimes recovered after your battle on the Spine of Deathwing in that accursed Dragon Soul place.

Any Goblin will tell you that this, my friend, is the perfect pet. All the fun of an ooze, but with metal spikes, and also on fire!

It is part of the Raiding with Leashes V: Cuteaclysm achievement introduced in 7.3, that introduces pet drops for the raids of Cataclysm.

Honestly, I find it a bit of a d***-move on Blizzard's side to introduce a spine-pet during Legion. Before, one could collect 9 blood, pull the amalgamation into them and aoe the blood down for instant 9 stacks. Now, however, our damage is too high, blowing the amalgamation up too early. Result: an annoying to solo encounter got more annoying and needs to be farmed.

In case it's been a few years since you have been to this raid like me, I hope to save you some frustration. I was able to get the amalgamation to cast nuclear blast but then I received an error, something like "The Nuclear Blast was not close enough to the armor plate." I finally figured out I was facing the wrong way. So...make sure you are facing Deathwing's HEAD, not his TAIL so you don't waste an hour like I did.
