Returning Player Guides - If You Quit During Mists of Pandaria
With Battle for Azeroth looming around the corner, there are many old players that get motivated to play World of Warcraft again, but, as we know, WoW is a game with constant change over the years, being pretty difficult for a player that quit the game long ago to return.
The fifth guide is being released tonight, with a focus on what changed since Mists of Pandaria, WoW's fourth expansion that brought the pandamonium to azeroth!
Mists of Pandaria Timewalking Preview
Mists of Pandaria Timewalking is a new bonus event coming in 7.1.5. There will be six dungeons and a number of new items to purchase for

Legendary Cloak Quest Removed In WoD, can't be started in 6.0
Blizzard has posted this morning revealing that the legendary cloak quest, and the cloak that comes with it, will become unobtainable in patch 6.0.2 - when Warlords launches for real on November 13th, not the pre-patch. Once the pre-patch hits, it can't be started.
For a complete list of things to do before 6.0, check out
Wowhead's Guide to Removed Mounts, Pets, Transmog Gear, Titles, Achievements and More
!
This is an unusual step--one of the few times a legendary has been removed from the game. So, get your legendary cloak now, if you still can! The good news is that the Black Prince Buff - which also increases the drop rate of the RNG items you need - is being extended until 6.0 launches. What's more, 6.0 will remove the Test of Valor requirement, shortening the time it takes to get a cloak. Is there enough time if you start right now?
Reward Systems Designer Russ Petersen has clarified that the Ordos cloak requirement will be removed at some point, and what will happen if you're on Test of Valor when the patch appears, and Community Manager Bashiok asserts that there's no chance to finish it if you haven't started already:
For more information on how to get your Legendary cloak, check out

<p>As a part of the transition from Mists of Pandaria to Warlords of Draenor, we’ll be making some changes to the Legendary Cloak quest line and ultimately closing it out as players head into the new expansion. PvP Season 15 Announced for Mists of Pandaria
PvP Designer Brian Holinka tweeted that
MoP is getting an additional arena season
, which has led to some speculation on Warlords of Draenor's launch date.
At the
BlizzCon fansite panel
, it was stated that no Patch 5.5 was planned, so if you don't love PvP, you could be in for a long stretch of no new content in Mists of Pandaria. This is a striking change from the very fast patches at the start of MoP and more in line with the long pre-expansion wait during Dragon Soul.
However, Blizzard could have some surprises in store like a mini-raid like Ruby Sanctum or quality-of-life patch like
Patch 5.4.2
with cross-realm mail and Flex raids.
Right now, we're several months into Season 14 and past PvP seasons have all
been over 20 weeks long
. Assuming Season 14 and Season 15 are on the short side, which is very optimistic, that

Mists of Pandaria Legendary Cape Guide: Updated for 5.4
We've updated our guide to Mists of Pandaria's legendary questline with details on the cape rewards coming in Patch 5.4 and catch-up mechanisms!
Overview
All level 90 players in a raid can work on the legendary questline at the same time. it's been purposely designed to cut down on loot drama and the feeling that one person in your raid ends up overpowered.
This legendary series spans the expansion, with more elaborate rewards each tier.
The reward for
Chapter I: Trial of the Black Prince
, added in 5.0, is a
+500 stat gem
that can be placed into a special
Sha-Touched weapon
, of which there are versions on LFR, Normal, and Heroic difficulty. These gems only work in Sha-Touched weapons.
The reward for
Chapter II: Wrathion's War

Live WoW Developer Q&A Transcript
Blizzard's Live WoW Developer Q&A took place on Thursday, April 25th, 5:30 pm PDT. Designers Dave Kosak, Ion Hazzikostas, Brian Holinka, Cory Stockton, and Greg Street answered player questions--since they covered a ton of questions over the course of an hour, we've organized all of their answers below by topic!
You can also visit
Blizzard's site
to view a full chronological transcript of the Q&A.
Q&A Highlights
Some epic battle pets are coming in 5.4.
The new Barrens content in 5.3 will not be CRZ, and will not affect low-level questing.
Think the Alliance was shortchanged on lore? Dave Kosak has some thoughts on that.
Plans are in the works for some server population issues.
Based on player feedback, the PvP Pet Battle system may continue to expand after 5.3.
While the 5.4 raid will include Orgrimmar, it won't just be recycled zones--plans will see some new stuff.
PvP questions included players asking about PvPers making gold and additional PvP rewards. They also asked about 5.3 changes, such as ilvl 496 item scaling for PvP and removing resilience from PvP gear.

Gear Guide: Twinking with Pandaria Gear
We've talked a lot about rare spawns and their fun vanity loot in Mists of Pandaria, but there's another reason why you want their loot as well--they drop high ilvl gear with low level requirements. This gear is perfect for making a
