Death Knight Patch 7.2 Class Campaign
Today we're starting up our series of 7.2 previews for the new Order Hall Questlines. Each class in the new patch has an continuation of their
class hall campaign
with new story!
First up is the Death Knight Campaign, which rewards the
achievement for completing the five class chapters and the final chapter which requires
Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part Two
. The first four chapters can already be completed in Patch 7.0, and the fifth and sixth chapters require Patch 7.2.
The fifth chapter will reward a champion, which is needed for
Champions of Legionfall
, which in return is required for the Flying step
Breaching the Tomb
. The sixth chapter will reward you the
Decaying Reins of the Vilebrood Vanquisher
class mount.
Death Knight Class Mount and Quest - Deathlord's Vilebrood Vanquisher
This past PTR build opened up all of the class mounts and their related quests for testing. Each class will get a special quest/scenario for their mount after unlocking flying and
Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part Two
.
Today we are taking a look at the Death Knight mount
Decaying Reins of the Vilebrood Vanquisher
. This mount changes color based on your specialization: Red for Blood, Blue for Frost, Green for Unholy. To acquire this mount, you'll have to follow the Lich King's orders...which are a bit controversial.
As this post covers unreleased content, general spoiler warning if you don't want to read about 7.2 quest and lore.

Death Knight Tier 20 Armor Set
Patch 7.2 introduces the Tomb of Sargeras raid which drops Tier 20 armor sets! Many of these sets are inspired by Tier 6 Black Temple, but Death Knights weren't in game yet, so Blizzard got creative designing Death Knight Tier 20.
The Mythic shoulders and helm are a bit more elaborate than their Normal counterparts with additional horns and spikes!
Note that this is an early version of the set, and colors and details are subject to change.

Guide to Tanks and Tanking
We're always trying to help players improve at their roles, or pick up a new one, and so, thanks to
Sunnier
, we have a basic guide to tanks and tanking. Of course, if you're a seasoned tank, much of this may not be news to you, although you may learn something about classes other than your own. For newer players, would-be tanks, and anyone wanting to learn more about tanking, read on.
World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor Guide to Tanks and Tanking for Patch 6.0.3.
Tanking in Warlords of Draenor has remained largely unchanged as a role since the introduction of active mitigation in Mists of Pandaria. If you're new to tanking, your base role responsibilities are as follows:
Ensure that any enemy mobs that can be tanked are attacking you instead of your fragile allies.
Position enemies to best enable your allies and avoid unnecessary damage.
Use your mitigation abilities to ensure you're taking as little damage as possible.
This guide aims to give you the basics on how to tank, and a summary of the five tanking classes in Warlords of Draenor.
Latest Hotfixes in Tweets, Death Knight Creation Change -- No Level 55 Requirement
Nethaera
With availability of the level 90 character boost, we feel the requirement to have a character level 55 or higher to unlock the Death Knight as a playable class is no longer relevant. The plan right now is to remove the limitation sometime next week, at which point players will be able to start a new Death Knight (which still begins at level 55) without first having to reach level 55 on another character.
Edit: A later post stated that this would be delayed to a new content patch.
Crithto
Upon looking into making this change, we discovered that a few client-side adjustments would need to go through in order for it to work. Therefore, our new plan is to remove the level 55 requirement for Death Knight creation in an upcoming content patch.
