Blizzard Takes Action Against RMT on Retail WoW - Gold Transactions Should Be Direct

Posted 1 hr 53 min ago by Squishei

We’ve recently completed a round of actions taken against accounts that were found to have participated in spending real money on gold provided by a third party (RMT). Some of the accounts actioned purchased the illicit gold and had the seller deliver it to a different player who provided a service to the purchaser, such as a raid carry.

Please be reminded that gold received from an intermediate player has an extremely high likelihood of being illicit gold that was part of an RMT. To avoid actions such as account suspension and the removal of illicit gold, players should always directly transfer gold from the player buying the carry (or other activity) to the player providing the carry.

Guilds that provide carries to players, who pay for them with gold that comes from an intermediate, are at risk of seeing that gold removed by Blizzard.

Thank you very much!

Not a good day to be a spammer in trade chat

Blizzard, please provide a dedicated line or means to report Asbur and action him in a timely fashion.

For anyone else reading this, Asbur is a boomy pvp player who has been selling RMT gladiator boosts since Legion. Every single season, thousands of games played. Blizzard has banned this player multiple times in the past and has even performed hardware bans but he continues to return.

The bans just move too slow, season ends he finally gets banned and then opens another account, gets it ready for the new season and continues to sell glad boosts.

There are a few other glad sells from EU that play on NA realms every single season just making a full-time job out of selling gladiator carries. I hope these guys are erased.

Normally with boosting communities, there's an organiser who takes the gold, and then gathers the boosters who provides the service. Wonder how this will impact them. Cause no way in hell the organisers are going to let one of the boosters handle the gold that's supposed to be split. Unless the organisers are part of the boosters now too lol.

Now ban the streamers like Ziqo, Payo and many more that participated in RMT in A BETA.

I mean they’re right, there is absolutely no other reason to have a middleman.

"Some of the accounts actioned purchased the illicit gold and had the seller deliver it to a different player who provided a service to the purchaser, such as a raid carry." I dont understand this, im reading as someone buys gold from sketchygoldseller(dot)com and tells said site to deliver it to somone other than themselves?

This post seems to mostly warn boosters about accepting gold from a middleman, "Please be reminded that gold received from an intermediate player has an extremely high likelihood of being illicit gold that was part of an RMT." the booster would be getting that gold split from the middleman, not the person who RMTed it?

Unless im missing the point of them, someone able to correct me?

i hope blizzard bans the wrong guy and gets sued
idc what you think if you were given gold by another player for a service and that gold turns out to be from rmt
and blizzard bans YOU because you received the gold but didn't participate in RMT they should get sued

- There is no good solution for boosting
- The services channel is dominated by bots and people that do not perform the boost
- Blizzard warns players but does not provide a functioning solution.

I dont know why people even bother to do RMT as firstly you can get "almost everything" done in wow easily with lfg and secondly you are pplaying a very risky game which can end in losing account for which you did RMT so its outta my mind .

Blizzard just needs to make it game wide that you cannot sell carries / boosts for RTM or Natural Gold. It takes away the achievement of reaching that goal naturally.

Considering that most people will just revert the bans for this days later as usual... even if this ban wave was ever real, its meh.

Take action against RMT by not buying shop items that go against the boundaries blizzard set themselves

Guess someone at blizz saw tokens aren't selling as well as they want them to be.
