look at the wolf mount. are they serious?
Holy ^&*! its literally just cozy core retail &*!@. WOW forever is turning out to be a "classic" for retail players. Everything looks so sissified.
Not gonna lie, this stuff is way too detailed for Vanilla. I think the flashy colours / higher quality models are going to dig a gap between old and new stuff. This will be Forever's biggest painpoint. No matter how good the content can be, if you've got HD models next to Roblox-looking stuff, then it will break the graphic coherence.
I wonder what the ghost bear creature is.The green druid/tree/roots/dragonface-thing creature is nightmare fuel, some kind of dungeon or raid boss? And wth is that high-res Alysrazor boss model from Cataclysm doing there? (The red flaming bird one)
A SD/HD character model switch will be pointless if everything else is going to be high res
What is that weird hybrid Dragon-Hyjalroot creature. Maybe one of Nefarians experiments? Maybe a Green Dragonflight experiment?
One of those satyr models look very detailed. I guess it's a boss. Almost wonder if it's Xavius (without the Emerald Nightmare corruption).
Honestly, these all look really good, I know there will be complaints but the variety of mobs here gives me hope for more diversity in the world.
This is not Vanilla, get a grip
I see a lot of moaning about things being too high res but like. if you want this to come out sooner rather than later the fastest way to do that ius to reuse models from retail expacs. it's gonna take way more time to train people to make models in the same style as they were in classic while capturing the same essence. especially since the tools people have now are way better and older tools rarely work well on modern hardware.it's gonna be either or. either have some high ress models or wait months extra on content because of having to reskin models in an older style/ make new models and rig those. because rigging takes ages aswell
I think people forget they probably decided to name it "forever" instead of "classic+" for a reason. They probably going the same route as OSRS, keeping the old mechanics, gameplay and game philosophy but still adding more modern stuff and QoL stuff. OSRS also changed a lot compared to the "OG 07 version", while still keeping the same feeling of the 07 version.the "classic identity" was never abour graphics or models, but how the gameplay, mechanics and the larger picture of how the world is. something which we get in forever.we're not the big strong main character hero, the world is the main character. The gameplay is the same, keeping the old combat and talent system. thats the classic identity, not if a model has more pixels or polygons than what models had 20 years ago.
Can someone explain the connection between the new and old models?Blizzard seems to be mixing everything up.I see new models from various expansions, but also old ones. Are monster races like forest trolls, ogres, nagas, gnolls, and quillboars etc, not getting new models? Is there a way to disable this, or does it only affect player models?
I’m still gonna play this, but these models are way to retail… gonna be weird seeing a high def bear next to a low Polly one.. hunters gonna mess it up
