World of Warcraft China Operations Team, translated
Announcement of Penalties Affecting Midnight Season 1 PvP and PvE Rewards
September 1, 2026
In accordance with the
Midnight Special Enforcement Announcement on In-Game Violations, and in order to uphold the spirit of competition and fairness in Azeroth, the World of Warcraft China operations team will take disciplinary action against players who undermined competitive integrity during Midnight Season 1 PvE and PvP through account sharing—including piloting and boosting—or through rating manipulation and other prohibited activities. Their high-ranking seasonal rewards will also be revoked or canceled. Details are as follows:
- 3,179 player characters found to have improperly obtained high-ranking Mythic Keystone rewards during Midnight Season 1 through piloting, boosting, or other forms of account sharing will receive the following penalties:
- Reward disqualification: These players will be disqualified from receiving the Mythic Keystone top 1% mount reward, Umbral Ashes, as well as the top 0.1% seasonal title, associated achievements, and other high-ranking rewards. In other words, the affected players will not receive any of the relevant Midnight Season 1 Mythic Keystone ranking rewards.
- Rewards passed down to the next eligible players: After the affected players have been disqualified, the relevant Mythic Keystone ranking rewards will be granted to the next eligible players in the rankings.
21,310 player characters found to have improperly obtained high-rated PvP rewards during Midnight Season 1 through piloting, boosting, rating manipulation, match-fixing, or other prohibited activities will receive the following penalties:
- Revocation of high-rated rewards: The Midnight Season 1 Gladiator mount, Galactic Gladiator’s Goredrake, along with the associated high-rated titles and transmog rewards, will be revoked. These penalties apply to the entire Battle.net account, including every character on the account.
- Account suspensions: The affected PvP players will also receive the appropriate account suspensions.
Midnight Season 2 is now underway. The World of Warcraft China operations team would once again like to remind all champions:
- In accordance with the Midnight Season 2 PvE/PvP Enforcement Announcement, we will continue to monitor and investigate the types of PvE and PvP violations described above and revoke the corresponding high-ranking rewards.
- Account sharing, piloting, boosting, rating manipulation, and similar activities are prohibited in all forms.
- We will continue to investigate and penalize violations involving attempts to evade enforcement through unconventional methods. Do not assume that such conduct will escape detection or punishment.
We wish all champions the very best as they climb to new heights and push their limits in the new season. Have fun!
