Thank god wowhead's here to explain to us that soak mechanic on that specific boss in that specific dungeon. There really wasn't any other to figure it out, like using our brain or just playing the game

Comment by Amberian

we need the whole wowhead topic for people to be able to do basics pve mechanics, that is telling a lot about current quality of players

You just can't trust dps players to do any mechanics. Now imagine a mechanic where all 3 dps and only the 3 dps to soak 1 thing each otherwise you wipe. That is this boss in a nutshell...

BREAKING NEWS, there is water in the sea! AHHHH POST

Comment by VarusEU

This would be great, if DPS players knew how to read

Well, let's just be happy they spread the mesage.
Why they chose to make an article for that single mechanic on that single boss only the author can tell, when in that instance literally 3 of 4 bosses have soak mechanics. Probably a bad night at that boss with a pug.

Pretty sure the soak mechanic on this boss is brand new. A lot of players might be back in this dungeon for the first time in years and not realize how important this new mechanic is.

A mechanic for dps? Good luck with that :P

DPS players should look to soak one orb each.

You would expect after dying once or twice to that mechanic it would stick, but I have seen so many players that simply don't care about it, it's kinda amazing. Either DPS don't do the mechanic, so one takes all orbs, or the tank or healer still soak them and die in the process, because the healer WILL get the polymorph AoE on them and die while moving out, even with just one stack, or the tank just keels over due to the 750% increased damage taken while negating all self heal.

Finally, been dying on this boss for weeks now. Thanks wowhead for this information. (Sarcasm).

Which is why they've made this article...

Well yeh considering every mechanic since forever has been delegated to a healer or tank mechanic where DPS refuse to do *!@# all, including using that precious interrupt that is not on the GCD and has zero bearing on their ability to do DPS, always blaming someone else.

We kind of have to tell DPS "Hey $%^&wits, this is a DPS ONLY mechanic", like how they had to remove healer interrupts to force DPS to use their own.

And yet still DPS are being braindead and just going HAM on the boss and ignoring every other thing that happens.

I watch people play regularly and it's like:
"Don't stand in the bad"
*Proceeds to stand in the exact bad I just told them not to*
"Hey that stuff on the floor, it's bad, it hurts"
*Does the exact same thing 3 seconds later*

DPS are 'too busy' doing their rotation that they refuse to acknowledge anything that does not have a health bar.

Sounds good doesn't work.

The debuff applies through bubble (and other immunities apparently) as I had the misfortune to notice in a key yesterday. (Holy Paladin)

Because this boss mechanic is literally a DPS mechanic, where the tank and healer can soak, but it's bad and will almost certainly end with a wipe. If the DPS don't help, it will be a wipe, even if the tank and healer decide to take all 3 orbs, one or both of the tank and DPS are going to die.

DPS need to pull their head out and realise that they cannot just roll along for the ride anymore, things are changing and becoming a DPS problem. And that soak aside, the rest of the fight is a straight DPS check. As in if the DPS don't kill the adds fast enough the healer will run out of mana and will not be able to heal the boss, killing the adds is paramount also to the orbs spawning and needing to be sent for additional healing.

And I'm all here for it, force the DPS to do something and if they don't they will wipe. Because as much as they will yell and scream and try to blame someone else, they will have nowhere to hide since certain mechanics not being done are straight up a DPS problem now.
