Get Extra Delve Loot with the Shrine of Abundance

DundunSanctified Banner

The first time players find Dundun within a Delve each day, it will be made Abundantly Bountiful, resulting in two Bountiful Delve chests at the end. This will cost an additional Restored Coffer Key to unlock, but is effectively double the crests, gear, crystals, decor, and everything else normally contained within the chest.

Each subsequent time, the Loa of Abundance will offer players their choice between extra Undercoins, Voidlight Marl, or companion experience.

The ability to make a delve Abundant seems to be on a cooldown somewhere between 18-24 hours (instead of being available again with the daily reset), as I utilized it 4 times in 4 days during this last reset with all of them coming roughly the same time of night (but not always my first find of him that night).

That's kinda funny that a target macro works. I wonder if they'll let that stay in.

Thats not true, he is hidden in all 4 delves every day, I have been farming bountifuls for the bar even without keys you can find him and ask for Valeera exp, Marl, etc

They'd have to turn him from an NPC into an object which is just too much effort for really no gain, except to make things a bit more annoying for players.

That's literally Blizzard's entire development strategy. More time spent searching for the NPC means more time spent in game, which means more bull$%^& engagement metics they base their "success" on.

So Blizzard went from "Woops, we handed out Heroic gear way too quickly in Season 1..."

To...

Let's do it again! *facepalm*

Found one in a delve with my dad last night, seems that only one person can choose what the reward is. idk if it gives it to everyone, or if only that player gets the reward, but it would be nice to get diff rewards per person.

You misunderstand. Making a delve Abundant is the first effect described in the article, which doubles the amount of Heavy Trunks and Bountiful Coffers that spawn (in addition to spawning an Abundant trunk). Being forced to choose marl/undercoin/XP means that the ability to make the delve Abundant is on cooldown, as the amounts you get of these rewards are frankly pitiful. So, at most you will only get one Abundant delve per day.
I've been running all four bountiful delves every day, having missed Dundun only once in the three or four days since I unlocked him and I only ever got one abundant delve, as stated above. Everything else was a currency choice (with the article missing the most important one: extra housing decor :D)

I've only seen him offer to make a bountiful run abundant.
He never offers currency or Valeera experience.

Running a T11 delve, using the bounty map, journey progressed, all nemesis pack, and the Bountifully Abundant makes for one frankly astounding layout of loot chests at the end - The Hidden Trove, Gilded Stash, Nemesis Cache, Two Bountiful Coffers, 4 Heavy Coffers, the ground practically paved with gold..
You can get so much stuff from it - it's little wonder Dawn Crystal price is dropping like a rock.

Now, if they could sort out Petrified Roots too..

Comment by Tareku

Will it also double the amount of gilded chests?

Comment by killerkarl

Not worth going out of your way to find more than once a week once your Valeera reaches level 80. The Marl and Coins it offers you at the end is a paltry amount.

My experience has been that if you don't loot both Bountiful Coffers, the Abundant delve option doesn't go on cooldown (as I did skip the extra coffer twice this week in the same day and saw the option again in subsequent runs). Seems a bit abusable if people are trying to farm warbound Champ gear from the extra Heavy Trunks with the later delve journey perks, so I could see Blizz fixing that eventually.

Comment by Aekero

It mentions you need two keys, so I find this of almost no value, it should have just doubled the contents of the next bountiful chest opened. It'll save some time later in the season I guess, but currently I'm running for journey as well.(##RESPBREAK##)0##DELIM##Archimtiros##DELIM##Time is money, friend!

I got my 1st one of these yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the all the bonus chests of useless crap.

Honestly, I would be happy with more gold.

It’s fine tbh because there’s only like 2 delves he’s actually hard to find. Most he’s in plain sight with like 2 locations

Comment by jpurebalance

It does double all chests so there’s that little perk of more chances at warbound gear

Subsequent runs give a choice of Valeera exp, coins, marl or decor.

Something being fine the way it is and changing it would change it for the worse has never stopped blizzard before, why would it stop them now?
