i mean even before reading the article we know what it's about.Solution is simple just remove any items taken from vault from the corresponding bonus roll pool.Obviously there are various other optimisations you could make that but even that change alone would mean that the vault slots themselves aren't nearly useless.welp should have read the solution part of the article but yeah it's such a basic solution that even blizzard might implement it unless they want to needlessly antagonise their playerbase, they're kinda into that
Something the article fails to mention is players earning that opportunity to use a bonus roll in raid or a 10+ mythic. None of the loot is being given out for free, it still has to be earned, and if a player rly want to play bonus rolls with Raid night (maybe they dont have the time to be doing eight 10's in a week in order to fill their vault), then that's their choice. It's still a time and energy investment either way -and there is still plenty of RNG involved. There is also still merit to doing a bunch of 10's early in a season to get as many options as possible to get gear your character needs. We definitely should have a knockout system in place though, not just with the great vault but also with loot the player is already wearing/in bags.I.e.: I get a hero 2h sword from mysara as a completion drop or as a great vault drop , it shouldn't drop again as a bonus roll or appear in the great vault.
The knockout system with the vault should have existed from the start, you did have vaults in some points in time that offered dupes or similar items that you didn't need or would take. I hope they change the vault to work with bonus rolls and the knock out system, over knee jerking into bonus rolls don't come back until the mid point of the season like they did for this season. I feel like thats what's gonna happen in season three, given history has a tendency to repeat itself. Oh and you would 1000000000% take a BiS trinket from the vault given how powerful they are and can be. In fact another avenue I forsee is when you get your BiS trinkets, using the vault to just roll for your off specs to try and pull them that way.
It's a shame Claude couldn't catch this in testing. Be nice if we had actual devs who played the game.
They will prob give us the same "bonus" halfway through S2 to upgrade trinkets and weapons to 344 or possible higher as well.
Blizz makes a great system, then players ruin it themselves and then calls it a bad system. It's a 22 year old roleplaying game, the sweats should just get GOOD and play competitive games if they want to puff their chest so much.
I'm confused. I've heard nothing about getting higher track rewards from Bonus Rolls, only the Vault. So if I'm just running Heroic raids, wouldn't the Myth-track Vault rewards be higher than the Heroic-track bonus rolls from the actual raid (using that bonus roll on the last boss as the example, shouldn't that reward a Hero cantrip item, not a Myth?)
This article doesn't take into account that bonus rolling the raid would require skipping 2 weeks of vaults. Which is a dumb thing to do. You are taking mythic slots your first few weeks then later if you don't like your options you can take bonus rolls. It's a better system, stop trying to optimize the fun out of the game :)
There's the solution mentioned several times already, make the vault rewards knock stuff off your bonus roll loot tables, but that has the issue of inflating loot even further. This is all caused by Blizzard making bonus rolls equal to vault rolls in terms of track. If bonus rolls gave you stuff off the boss' loot table instead of the next track up (or maxed stuff for Mythic bosses), then the bonus rolls would serve as a flexible fallback instead of the fastest path to power. That's much closer to the status quo, but since Blizzard has detailed the new system, going back to the old power levels will now feel like a massive nerf instead of a balancing fix.
This reeks of trying to find an issue with something that's probably gonna work out fine.
As a not mythic raider, this doesn't change much for me. My vaults will come from M+, if I don't see anything useful, grab the bonus roll. My issue with the roll itself has been covered, the only way to knock an item off the list is to bonus roll it. I can tell you, I ran skyreach at least 6 times on my shaman looking for boots. Either from the boss or a bonus roll. Along the way, I got the cloak I was wearing (boss drop), a weapon I was using (forget where it came from originally) and every other loot piece I didn't need or already had, before my last option on those dice - the damn boots - were guaranteed. Super frustrating. And it looks like that'll be the strat next season too when it comes to the item I need that refuses to drop. This should have been implemented at the start. The bonus roll list should start checking things off if you get it from a boss and equip it, get it from the vault (I think it's soulbound right away), or you roll it. That way, any item you've made soulbound gets checked off your bonus roll list. This doesn't mean that the same item you have can't drop from a boss/end of dungeon chest OR show up in a future vault - those things happen. But the dice roll will always be an item you haven't already looted.
I don't care if it's boring. Loot has been boring for eons. Lets just get on with it every season and move on.
all this complaining when you are gonna be full mythic geared in 10-16 weeks anyway.doesnt matter if you gear faster at start or near middle of season same result anyway.even when "casuals" get full mythic gear it still doesnt matter too much to most grps in grp finder. ppl love to meta pick players with "good" logs.
since gearing is so easy anyway, why not remove bonus rolls from the vault and just give a roll every week or other week next to the vault. Then we can atleast enjoying picking something from the vault again.
