"It is widely believed" the only wide belief here is that these AI-generated spam articles with "maybe" and "perhaps" as a source are getting old real fast.

Vanilla came and went.

Anything that is added to the so-called "classic" vanilla or SoD IS NOT ACTUALLY WORLD OF WARCRAFT.

When will people realize this? You are basically playing on a private server with things made up just for players who are too lazy and burnt out to play the real, true World of Warcraft.

We can't go back in time and have a do-over. Accept it and move on. There is no future for this classic nonsense.

We have millions of players with characters that experienced some of vanilla and those characters aren't even able to continue those adventures in the real WoW. And if they can't even do that, then nothing outside of the real, true WoW will ever matter!

It's so disrespectful to veteran players that a tainted, twisted version of vanilla exists on its own realm, but the real vanilla still doesn't exist anywhere and should be returned to real WoW.

Disgusting that this is still going on. All to appease players that rage quit the real WoW because they sabotaged their experience. Ridiculous.

Having these so-called "classic" versions is destroying and diluting the IP and it needs to end. If someone doesn't want to play the true World of Warcraft, then let them quit and be done with it. Such a waste of resources.

we must watch these new asmongold video , it is crucial for the safety of classic WoW https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfiR3FziGJM

not gonna read that nonsense since none of it will be implemented into a theoretical classic+ anyway. they will just do the lowest possible investment for the highest profit margin, as usual.

They had to kill Turtle Wow to steal their ideas. Timbermaw Prison? You mean Timbermaw Hold, the 20 man raid Twow had just released? Yeah, Blizzard finally getting their head out their asses but they have to destroy everything in their path first. No single original idea. Fix the bot issue in classic first. Fix the layering issue. Ban the Indonesian bots whose only job is to farm herbs/ore for gold selling purposes. Can’t even enjoy the game now - how is any of that going to change in a classic+ version?

The link to the 15 unused quests includes a filter that makes the quests not appear. I had to remove the filter after clicking it and scroll to the bottom to actually see the unused quests. Just a heads up.

There is no future for this classic nonsense.

I don't actually believe this will ever happen, but just to be contrarian here's a line:

- Blizz release Classic+ and it's actually compelling, and becomes popular.
- Blizz keeps the spirit of classic in the storytelling of classic+. They add further story that's in line with the "grittiness" of old WoW, as opposed to the cartoonish anime-friendly take of retail WoW. We get back to what Warcraft used to be.
- Imagine a 10 year period where slowly but surely, retail keeps shrinking, and Classic+ - due to it's superior storytelling that's more in line with the golden era of WC3 - emerges as the new "main" storyline.
- They retcon the whole universe, removing cute fox people and the Shadowlands/Dragonflight soap opera expansions from cannon forever.
- Classic+ supplants retail.

The scenario seems plausible enough. It's what happens every time something popular takes over for something else that used to be popular, so it's not like it's out of this world that that could ever happen. One day it will, whether it's Classic+ or some other game/genre. What's unrealistic is the part about current Blizzard improving the storytelling. But Aggrend and the classic team did a decent job on Season of Discovery, so one can certainly dream.

This! Its disrespectful to us veteran players. I play the same unchanged main char since the beginning in 2005 and I want the old vanilla world to be playable by him. I will never ever start over again with a new character and loose all my 21 years of progress. I farmed everything back then, I will not do it again. Its the same disgusting behavior that Blizzards puts towards when they finally added the missing purple T2 but in classic instead of retail while I wait for it for 19 years.

You are an outlier. Most people enjoy playing many class and race combos, even if just to level that character to 90. There is no cookie for tunnel-visioning a single character for 21 years other than achievements. What you want will not be feasible--they are not going to put original vanilla back into retail wow as they'd have bronze dragons in nearly every single zone to switch back and forth. They're also not going to let you copy a max level into a classic+ situation.

Just look at Turtle for ideas.

Right and if no one had the passion to speak up, the game would be dead.

All #youpeople need to do is stop killing the industry, just stop playing and move on.

Great video - would love to see this zone get some love - That image of the zone with the 2 dragons is awesome, although, I'm not really sure how it fits into the lore of the zone - I definitely get "follys of the Highborne" vibes when going into Azshara
