The key isn't a guaranteed drop off the specific Manatech near the cage once the prior steps have been completed, but it looks like it can drop off any Manatech in the area. I got it after 4 kills, so drop rate is probably fairly high.
this stuff is always fun not to hard to get but gives you something to go get if you are into this thing
What this is telling me is that the secret was never available before now, even though its been in the journal for a looong time... OR... the secret was straight up broke until some point, when they finally noticed and decided to redo how it worked.
I was able to follow all of the steps but do not see the container in Naigtal... i'm running heroic. Going to try normal and see if it shows up there I guess.CONFIRMED Final step needs to be done in Normal Naigtal, *not* in Heroic mode.
Can confirm you can't see the container in heroic naigtal BUT I did get the specimen key off heroic ethereal mobs.
I'm on Normal but there is STILL no container. Do i have to stay in untethered space or something?edit: I missed the Voidstorm step.
I can see the container but despite killing about 10 of these mobs, no key.
And this is why I'm almost over dealing with Blizzard's secrets.They add something in the collection journal in a patch, so I end up spending hours trying to figure out... only for the secret to not actually be available and Blizzard couldn't be bothered to let the players know because they have rules that they can't let the players know a secret isn't actually available. They are so incredibly lame and don't respect players' time at all.
Can't go into untethered space even with the wraps on my main from TWW. Broken POS game.Edit: I flew to another island on Karesh and entered, then took the untethered FP back to the city.
I don't understand why they put secrets into the game like this, and then make it unobtainable for a year until they get around to adding the item you need to complete the quest in an entirely different expansion.It's like saving the prephoof tauren in Dragonflight: You quite literally were not able to save him until they decided to put the rest of the quest into the game many patches later. I can remember just standing there next to the portal with the portal repair kit and wondering what the next step is, not realizing they hadn't bothered to put the next step in yet. That's amazingly unrewarding. I don't try to go secret-hunting anymore and stopped participating in the discord for this very reason. I can spend 20 hours looking at clues and in game maps and content and pondering riddles... only to then find out that the secret wasn't found because it wasn't actually findable. That feels just amazingly terrible. Actually timegating the hidden content for no reason. I don't understand why. Nobody benefits. Everyone who spent time on this from the Karesh patch to 12.7 wasted that time trying to solve a mystery that wasn't solvable.
btw, picking up the bill of lading requires level 90 :(
