Season of Discovery

Players may now disable or re-enable XP gains by speaking with Grendag Brightbeard in Ironforge in the Forlorn Cavern or the Valley of Strength in Orgrimmar.

Developers’ notes: There is a known issue where if you disable XP gains, this change does not persist after logging out and back in. We are temporarily removing the 1g cost for disabling and re-enabling XP gains while we investigate a fix for this issue.

Bro, what? Are wowhead posts having a stroke or something? Season of Discovery post in 2026 :D

Edit: It's Blizzard forum blue posters that are having the stroke lmao

the once per year sod post poggers! 1 year anniversary since last hotfix! Stop pretending like you care about anyone still playing this absolute abhorrent developers. "something big is coming soon! just wait 2 years for us to make something that'll be halfway mediocre!"

So, when the mode isn't bustling is when they add this feature? After they announce a refresh before classic+? Got to be an out of season april fools joke

For those out of the loop calling this an out of season April Fool's - a group of streamers are planning a phase-locked reroll project in less than 2 weeks from now. This change was probably requested and made it far enough up the grapevine to be put in place preemptively.

This is a very simply change which reuses an existing NPC and has already existed in other versions of WoW. It's not sapping dev resources; the team working on 'Classic Next' just took a few minutes to do this at the end of a workday, to help facilitate folks tiding themselves over while they wait for the future.

actually it shows you how fing self-serving streamers are. they have the clout to get needed changes but only push for sht that benefits their income.

For anyone who said SoD is dead, this is the big middle finger to all the quitters lol. I've never stopped playing and it's the best version of wow. There's still unsolved secrets confirmed by developers! Wowhead's awful promotion of SoD is the only reason people deserted. Bad click bait posts
