It made perfect sense already, it just cost way too much.Like if you wore some armour and I bashed you with a giant hammer, do you really think your armour shouldn't be taking damage and needing to be repaired? They just need to lower the cost of things when they remove or lower the gold gains over time.
if weapons cant roll indestructible anymore that means better chance of actually meaningful tertiary stats. Not bad
Just get rid of durability. There's way too many gold sinks in game already.
Nice change for shields durability for prot warrs. Hate seeing shield is yellow suddenly during M+
Wow! So now our repair bill costs will be 37 golds less than it used to.Thanks devs, i can finally afford a full night of mythic raiding with this change!
It’s a step in the right direction…small steps start the journey so fingers crossed by the end of midnight or start of TLT we have no more durability. Makes no sense now with mounts like the bear and yak etc where you can just repair yourself anywhere or the blacksmith hammer and Jeeves you can use to repair elsewhere.Little steps guys. Little steps. But at least we are walking
Pro Tip:Get Garrison Level 2 with a Level 2 Blacksmith and assign a follower with the Blacksmithing trait:If you assign a follower to your Level 2 The Forge that has the Blacksmithing Blacksmithing trait, you can speak to them for the following 4 hour buffs. Song of the Anvil: Your armor and weapons do not lose durability from use for 4 hrs. Solace of the Forge: While outdoors in Draenor, the Guardians of the Forge watch over you and may come to your aid.Granted this only lasts until you die, however I've gone the full 4 hours when doing farm content, saving hundreds in gold.
Hopefully this fixes the bow/gun/crossbow bug too x-xFor like 3 expansions now, they took damage from every target your AoE Ability hit, rather than just the initial damage from using the ability. Resulting in ranged weapons breaking roughly every 2 dungeons.
Level up Blacksmithing and invest all KP to all branches in the armor tree to the max. This will allow you to use Thalassian Master Repair Hammer for every armor slot.
Honestly durability is a very boring and old concept, and I do wish it would go away except for as a punishment for dying. But even that... Im not sure. Feels like there are other ways gold sinks can exist.
I suppose it's a good thing, since while repairs were more than manageable as a gold maker, there's still plenty of costs everywhere besides those, I just find it strange from blizzard, as in if it's true that players with little gold are forced to buy tokens for repairs, that would be ideal for blizzard, so it seems odd to me that they want to reduce that.
As a Prot Warrior enjoyer. Freaking finally. Nothing more annoying than all your gear being 70%+ Durability but your Shield going yellow/red a couple packs into a key because it broke so much faster than anything else.
Its crazy to see people complaining that its not enough, when this is a great step forward. Haste stacking melee classes and Prot specs (especially war) wont be taxed for playing their spec and this shows that they do at least care somewhat about it. Potentially we may see a global repair cost reduction in 12.1 or a hotfix
in before this isn't an intended change and is just a bug
Huge quality of life change, don't care about the gold though. On subtlety rogue my daggers go to nearly 50% from a single 30min m+ run without dying. Other gear is like 95% :p
