Have Professions Become Boring in Midnight?

For a lot of people who already play the economy, and hang out and deal with the auction house as almost like a full time gameplay style, we want that level of depth and more for Professions, so our hope is that we'll see folks who are spending a lot of time hanging out in the Crafting areas applying their trade and picking up Work Orders, making gold and skilling up on the side as they do that.

Each profession has three equipment slots and each piece of epic quality equipment requires 20 Fused Vitality to make.

Each Fused Vitality costs 800 Unalloyed Abundance, earned by completing Abundance events.

Abundance events award up to 900 currency 8 times per week, limited by Shard of Dundun.

On the flip side, the fact they do exist will put the people who go to extremes for professions a little ahead of everyone else.

Crafting gear for players really loses its appeal when you know that people are just using addons and such to instantly respond to anyone in trade chat, automating so much of the process. This wasn't near as much a thing in dragonflight, so it was enjoyable really feeling out the new system and crafting for people out of trade chat. Bringing back seasonal items like dracothyst won't do anything. People out here with high double digit alts all set up to craft items like that. The general attitude I hear around professions after the change are that most people ignore it entirely because it's messy and complicated (not really, but getting into it really feels complicated, in other words, poor design). Still to this day its very common to need to guide users through how they get their crafted items etc.

I wish they put more effort into core systems like Professions, Guilds and Communities. Currently they are all outdated and feel "minimal effort".

Personally I would like professions to become similar to RS. With things in general becoming more account wide, professions feel very left behind. And "unlearning" something feels unnatural and makes no sense. Especially gathering professions. Mining and Herbalism should be available to everyone just like cooking, fishing and archeology (also, bring that back? It has a ton of potential and are just being ignored!) But honestly, why stop there. Professions shouldn't be a choice. Speciality should be a choice. Let my characters dabble in all at the same time, but let me decide the path I want to advance in.

I am very happy about things becoming more account-wide, but I feel opposite when it comes to professions. Being a weaponsmith should become "a part of your character" instead of "My character has X where I specialize in Z". Let me decide to be a jack of all trades and a master of none, or a master of one. Isn't that what a profession technically is about? It should be similar in-game as IRL. Don't get it twisted, please.

My experience with modern professions are to just ignore them and pick those that passively give me an edge. As a M+ runner, most of my characters have Alch & Enchanting. I would much rather have Engineering and gathering professions, but that would basically be pointless for me 99.99% of the time, hence why I don't pick those.Comment by TheRedBaron20Boring, like all the other chores in the game we don't want to do.
