Since all metrics shown deal with popularity, they aren't directly attached to spec balance, but to community perception of spec balance.

Specs considered bad by the community will generally be played less and tend to have lower participation.

Highest keys tend to have a very low participation, meaning specs played by these players will be overrepresented, despite any actual balance.

You don't have to so shamelessly cover for Blizzard. It's obvious they can't balance their way out of a paper bag, let alone balance 40+ specs in this game. We all know about their pay2win Devourer DH scheme -- make Devourer DH overpowered as hell so more people buy the expansion and play the new spec. While it isn't pay2win by certain strict definitions, there is ABSOLUTELY "give us money and you now have access to an inordinate amount of potential spec/class power, if you so choose to play it."

They do this same "give us money and play an overpowered spec/class" in other Blizz games, too. Overwatch has a new hero releasing TODAY and the devs have assured the community that the hero will launch on what they constantly refer to as "the safe side of strong." To me, that's corpodevspeak for "LOL OVERPOWERED AF."

Further, Diablo 4's new expansion, Lord of Hatred, launches in a few weeks on April 28th. It features the new Warlock class. And Wudijo, a popular streamer and content creator for Diablo, along with some of his peers (other streamers of the game) have made allusions/nods in recent videos to the FACT that they have 1) playtested the Warlock early; and 2) that it's overpowered as hellllllllllllllll.

This company has not just abandoned balance for the sake of money -- they've abandoned any illusion, guise, or mask of attempting to balance things. They are just full-on, blatantly making new classes/specs in ALL of their games overpowered, chiefly to drive more sales.

It's gross, and pathetic.

It wouldn't be so bad if Devourer wasn't such an outlier in most content types. And it's not getting better any time soon. They already did 3 or 4 tuning passes, which seemed to end around the end of March, and now it's just crickets. Silence. No further balancing, even though it's SORELY needed.

Clown fiesta company, fr. Blizz is bad.

Oh and this isn't to mention WoW pvp, where MW Monks see 50%+ representation among all healers played. They almost never have to cast any spell that could get their school of magic spelllocked, and they have tons of damage, utility, MOVEMENT, and loads and loads of cooldowns to trade. More cooldowns than almost any other spec IN THE GAME. On top of that, Brewmaster is hilariously overpowered for Mythic+. And nothing is being done about ANY of this.

Lmfao.

WTF are you talking about? You cant play the season without paying the expansion. If you already have it, then you have access to the class.

Hes one of those guys that farm old dungeons weekly and doesn't do current content

making new classes/specs in ALL of their games overpowered

It's been like this since forever, any new class that comes out is a little OP.

DK in Wrath.
Monks in MoP.
First DH in Legion.
Evoker in DF.
DH again in Midnight.

Along with some changes here and there that bring some other random ass class or spec to the top, this time around it's brews time to shine. Last expansion was vengeance and resto shaman, before that we had survival hunter in the spotlight for a bit.

The list goes on, there is always going to be something 'OP', including the new specs and classes, but it's far from what you are claiming. Last 2 weeks everyone was %^&*ting on guardian, but there are guardian druids completing high keys, more than even vengeance and paladin who have historically been a strong tank class. Last expansion we also had priest as one of the goto healers for a bit, now they down the bottom in favour of druids and monks.

And classes are not even that OP, they are all still within a reasonable margin that for most players you could complete any normal key level or heroic raid with any class or spec.

So high depletion rates are unacceptable...

Nice healer and tank "balance"

🤦‍♀️

There's still more demo locks at 20+ than at 21+ though, by a good bit. So safe to say the 5th slot could be either demo lock or dev dh. I'd like it to be demo lock since lock hasn't been meta in m+... ever (at least that i can recall, i'm probably wrong).

who cares meta matter for less than 100 people in the world, play whatever class/spec you want instead of being a meta slave when you arent even pushing title.

You can make a devourer even on free trial, what in the world are you talking about tourist.

And I like to play most specs in the game, so I like to play whatever is meta, nothing wrong with it.

Not that the DPS is any better. But yeah healer and tank are worse. Especially tanks.

10s continue to be the most popular difficulty by far, as players work towards their Midnight Keystone Master: Season One.

There is absolutely no correlation between 10s being the most popular key level and people working on getting the Keystone Master achievement because you don't need to run a single 10 key to get Keystone Master. The ONLY reason that 10s are the most popular key is because it is the lowest key you can do to guarantee Myth loot in your vault and is the 2nd lowest key that guarantees Myth crests so you kill 2 birds with 1 stone. 10s will become even more popular in 12.0.5 because the bonus rolls from the Voidforge guarantee loot from the track that would be in your Vault from running that key, so using a bonus roll in a M10 dungeon will guarantee a Myth piece of gear from that bonus roll.
