Fun fact; friendly NPCs can be high value. I saw one of the Den Grimlynxes in Harandar at The Den with the buff lol.
High Value Beasts also appear to be the only ones you can get fur, teeth and feathers from, which are needed for pretty much all leatherworking recipes beyond the most basic.
Skinning is buggedm few mats doesnt drop, there is no skill points from skinning, epic skin are needed to basic crafts so you cant do it, terrible design
Don’t waste your time on this profession, the rare items never drop.
Cool feature did they do this with tailoring also if not they should ASAP.
As of right now, skinning hasn't been amazing. You aren't earning skill points to even be able to put into trees (you just max out) and the "rare" drops that are needed aren't even dropping. I'm assuming once full launch hits this will improve, but it has been disappointing for early access.There was also in issue in Zul'Aman where amazards would show as "high value" but you couldn't even skin them at all.Probably just early access issues, so hoping this week sees some fixes.
My main bad point is seeing a high value beast on the mini map to reach it an realize, that is has been killed by a npc mob...
My biggest issue with skinning has been friendly mobs and flying mobs too high to kill being "high value" which I assume takes away from the pool of actual killable mobs.
New skinning blends well with herbalism and mining. I have ran into a few issues, like high-value targets being in high plantery orbit or being untargetable (like the barriers that protect temples). With a little more polish this will be a solid addition to the baseline game.
Are we playing the same game guys? You have so many choices in the spec tree. You can farm Majestic mats ( it was selling for 200k-500k early, then 50k-100k, now still 25k-40k for a piece, this gave me few millions just in few hours). Then you have difusers (you can infinite farm motes + leather, cost is 2 motes and with build you will ALWAYS get 3-8 motes from every mob...). Maybe only the uncommon material drop is wrong, but now its dropping, price already went from 50k to 500g-6k golds for piece)
Oh that is nice! A nice thing for us skinners out there. Hopefully we will still/eventually be able to make the lures to summon elites to skin (oh man, what a sentence that is...)?
I found a glowy thing near the trainer, a vial of oil that gave me three knowledge points. Like right there next to the trainers.So, you can find points? I've also been having a grand time with the orbs in Silvermoon City that teleport you to other spots. Found some neat stuff that way too.I guess you get out what you put in. Like go make the effort to search in the corners and nooks and crannies.I found $500 on the ground two weeks ago. It pays to keep your eyes open everywhere, I suppose. Be curious. Explore, for the gods sakes.
