What about the weekly quests for 8 wq/rares and 3 rares? Are they good xp?
The amount of XP it's reporting and what you actually get seems wildly different. Between L70-80, my log was telling me around 2500 for the rare when in actuality I was getting 25-30k. I leveled 70-80 in just over an hour just from killing rares and handing in the two weekly quests.
Also not mentioned is that during the first phase, you can get another fair bit of XP. Try to tag as many of the elites being killed for meter %. The non elites give hardly anything, but the larger elites give almost as much as the ritualists and the rare. Rested Xp also helps a lot.
Summery: One the Worst Pre-Patch Events for XP. Looks like Blizzard is starting to force people into Remix for Leveling up rather then Pre-Patch events. Problem is I don't want to remake characters for remix and since you can't say convert an old character back and forth you either have to make new characters or slowboat it. This will be one the few expansions I did not level every class to max before the start of an expansion.
This article's info is outdated. Dunno when the hotfix happened, but the rares are giving at least half a level and the 3 ritualists give a nice little chunk each as well.
One alt went from 74 to 80 before I even finished the last WQ, the significant EXP is so high.
with how bad this even is for leveling, on top of the beef'd up timewalking dungeons, I guess it's back to a mix of WoD leveling and/or TBC dungeon spamming for optimal leveling?
4 timewalking dungeons will get a level 70 to 80.
I leveled from 70-80 in roughly an hour about a week ago. Here's a complete list of what I did:- I turned in some random Dragonflight quests the toon had already sitting complete.- I did one timewalking dungeon.> At this point my toon hit level 73.- I went to the Twilight Highlands and proceeded to kill probably 3 rares, decided the XP from the rares didn't seem worth.- I did the 4 or 5 world quests I had available in the zone.> Ding, I hit 80.I remember the world quests giving me like a level and a half it felt like.
I’ve been casually levelling my new DH by doing the zones story quests, the occasional dungeon, and hitting the Rares needed to finish my achievement. Hit 60 without really realising it. Not the fastest way to level but the best way to avoid burnout, keeping it varied and fun!
I recommend doing this ONLY to test out spec changes (and to set up your UI).Get the goodies you want, then don't go back. It's not worth it unfortunately.
Timewalking70 -> 80 = 3 fast dungeonsTry to queue as heal/tank....it won't matter, it's an AoEfest because dungeons have been a joke since Firelands
The information in this post seems out of date. While watching the Fallout finale last night, I leveled two characters to 80 who were both in the low 70s. Ritualists gave good XP, but defeating the rares gave a huge chunk. It was fast and mindless. Either everyone is reporting it wrong or there has been a stealth buff at some point.
