I think one of the things that gets talked about most frequently is outdoor decor limits are too low. People want to be able to build more stuff outside their house. We're trying. We're going to see where things land and sort of, we want players to be as creative as they want to be. And placing restrictions on folks is never the goal in any of our sort of guiding principles.

It crashed on the PTR tests, it crashed in Beta when that opened. The housing finder halted under load when early access came available.

And you wonder why Blizzard is concerned about server load.

As some one who works with systems capacity, I think they are being justifiably cautious. If they opened up the limits now, and then the full player base jumps into housing and their main expansion feature system is DOA on launch people will be in an uproar.

Interiors are on their own instance so they can ratchet those up. Exteriors share with the whole neighborhood. So it make sense that limits are lower.

I want to see the limit increase also. My house exterior has no decor except a corner for a outdoor living room similar to the article screen shot. It takes 190/200 of my budget.

But, I also think people need to be patient. I would rather the system work, with limits, than crash because they allowed too much and the servers could not scale to the demand at launch.Comment by TyranuelObviously 200 is too low, 400-500 should be the minimum. But the main problem in my opinion is that there are too many 5 slot decors. Like why does Earthen Contender's Target cost 5 slots? Or even in the picture that is posted above with the fences, why are they 5? Sure I can understand with lightsources, they have said that those cause big issues (idk if they fixed it), but there are way too many items that 5 cost which are supposed to be placed A LOT.Comment by GidyeonJust be more creative with your budget.... If I didn't have to blow through my exterior budget covering up my Orcish Hut then I would have a ton of slots left.

Once they add other exterior styles I reckon I, and many others will have a surplus of outside furnishing space.

My other big gripe is unclear "property lines" outside. I bought a house on one of the bluffs in Razorwind and it won't let me place decorations near the edge of said bluff, or on the wooden balconies.

I wanted to put benches down to enjoy the view :(Comment by thatmikeguyI've been playing for 20 years, and this idea and the fit in WoW is perfect, but the implementation is not great. I have the ability to build a vaulted ceiling or other linked flat wood structures, but I built a better looking Lincoln Logs house when I was 5, because the structure items do not function together for what many players want to achieve. I think they could add additional versions of the existing structure items that link together better and achieve the WoW look at the same time. More items will come at some point. I would like to see coloring ability on many more items, structure additions, player collected weapons/armor/enchants,and player collected pets. Filling the amount of space we have access to at this point can require a large amount of duplication, but most items do not duplicate well. 10 out of 10 idea, but I'd give it 4 out of 10 at this early stage. Edit: As far as minimum future non-structure additions go, players need at least one pet for indoor and outdoor, one armor transmog set, one weapon with enchant, not sure if a mount would work.Comment by ClandestinyAgain - what is the point of housing?
