Warcraft Logs Raid statistics Liberation of Undermine Raid Tier Lists Disclaimers and SourceRaid Statistics Page on Warcraft Logsincomplete picture of balance

Specs considered underpowered are generally played less and tend to appear weaker than they are.

This happens as many performance-oriented players tend to play the strongest spec or class, increasing the gap between top and bottom specs even further.

Position of specs for the 95th percentile might be skewed by alternative strategies and parse funneling. We're including the chart showing all percentiles' results to paint a better picture for all specs.

Yet Demo is “Meta”, which is great, but how is it so far down on here?

They slowly kill the support out of aug

Aug is barely a support these days, and with the Scalecommander set in s3 you can expect some very good personal damage from Aug. Still not enough to overtake Dev in any situation thankfully

No sorry needed ^^ It's just a thing of Damage-Profile in a Raid and the option to specc in it... for me as BM e.g. it's no wonder, that BM is this low in Overall while in top 5 for Single Target... since there are nearly only two real choices... go Full ST or go full AoE... there is no real way in between... for Add-Fights you nearly only have the Chance to do AoE every two Minutes for 20 Sec and that's it... or you go full AoE and lose massive ST-Value... so most choose the AoE every 2 min with CotW and Bloody Freenzy... And if this is not the Profile a Boss needs we massive loose on potential AoE-Damage others can easy grab.

And if Aug also Buffs these Players in those AoE-Phases he also gets a ton of this Damage in his Bar.

And I guess there are many Classes with same Problem. If your Damage-Profile doesn't fit the Profile of a Boss encounter you are not that good... also this is for whole Raid... watch Bosses one by one and there are different things to see. a good Aug knows where and when to grab most Damage by buffing the right classes/players in the right time... and also Aug is no also doing more damage on his own then ever before...

Also like it is written in Disclaimer: Better players tend to choose the Specc that does more DPS... therefore some classes/speccs might get left with less good players and therefore lose "max dps"... good example here is MM... many Hunters I know that always played BM now play MM since they only care for Logs... so the good players (or at least the "Log-Sl*ts" now play MM and only the Players that prefer playing BM or are not as good or focus more on Mechanics and so on are left on BM... this is just one of many examples that can lead to a "Support overtaking other DPS"...

Also kinda Offtopic: Was wondering like forever, what this Dots in the "Overall Precentile" Pictures are meaning. Can someone explain plz

Can we just remove shamans from the game? When they were on top, they were getting instant nerfs every single week of class tuning. When they are on the bottom they do not exist in blue notes for over 3 months now

Demo is not Meta in any content atm. It's so far down because the only good dmg fight for it is Stix (and even that is mostly pad and no meaningful bombshell dmg). The other warlock speccs are only far up because there's a lot of spread add cleave fights where they can excel. The pure ST dmg is pretty bad for all warlock specs.

RIO's Break the Meta Eligible Specs and this list, both are aging like a fine wine. 👌 🤭

Comment by Mortenz

Good thing lists like these are irrelevant for 99%+ of the playerbase. Just like whatever the current meta specs are.

Why are wowhead users so dramatic? 😂 😂

Dude, You have no clue, right? xD Without Devavoker and MM there is only like ~5% Between lowest DPS and Top... We have one of best Balancing for like forever... and still there are crybabys like you always complaining xD There always have to be Classes/speccs lower than others... There is no CHANCE to have all on top... even if Blizz could make it, that sim wise all DPS are EXACT the Same, there are people behind those classes... and so there always will be differences!

And yes, Shamans mostly instant get nerfed when on top, since most of the time if they are on Top, they aren't only just "on top"... the are breaking the Scales! It's not just the are 0,5% over 2nd Place... they mostly then top the Charts with like 10% over next place... and there are nerfs needed...

5% between lowest DPS and Top? That depends on how you look at it, doesn't it?

5% between the best player of the best class and between the best player of the worst class? That's sadly not true, (even if you disregard MM and devoker, which is a ridiculous argument) there's roughly ~15% between arcane mage and fury warrior (if you're looking at the "max" setting on the warcraftlogs statistics.

Now if you're looking at the 50th percentile, the average, there's still 10% between the top (while disregarding Devastation because apparently one class being way better than anything else doesn't count) and the bottom.

In the 10th percentile, the worst 10% of players in mythic raids, there's almost 30% discrepancy between the top and the bottom.

However! If we're looking at the minimum performance, there's in fact a 0% difference between all of them, because they minimum performance for any spec is 0 dps. So basically, the game is perfectly balanced because the people getting boosted all deal the same damage!

In the end, the game is balanced poorly, as always. If you disagree, look at the statistics properly, don't just have other people tell you something while showing a graphic that you don't understand. That way you get gaslit, like you have been.

WoW, i've never seen such a bad argumentation as your's xD

Yeah, if i compare every class that is just standing there and doing nothing, than everythink is 100% balanced... and if i compare worst players, than balancing ALWAYS is off! That's why developers that aren't dumb af NEVER take Data from worst players, at least not in Games, where you can't separate them and the Balacing like in MMR-Ranked Games... You have to Balance a Game arount the Performance of Top players... sure, not only around top 1% but at least around top 25%... since those people mostly know what to do and what to get out of their class... best example was Warrior back in Vanilla... everybody cried it is so bad, needs buffs and so on... and then (if i remember correctly) the Developer for Warriors showed them how to play Warrior and all of the sudden it wasn't this bad anymore... Without Buffs... so if you balance around people that have no clue what to press, than balancing gets DESTROYED for People, that know how to play the Game at least to Top 25%.

And Mate, those numbers you see on bottom are no Percent Values... those are "Score Points" you get from WCL (don't realy know how they get set)... If you look at pure Damage Numbers... and take the avarage Numbers of all Speccs in top 95% (cause this is what's shown here) you will see, that Lowest is only ~5% lower DPS than Top via Damage Numbers... and over all 8 Bosses.

Trust me, I'm on WCL more than I would love to.... and I can read Graphs... I did it for my Job for some years and never failed... But Most people here se "My Bar is way shorter than the Bar on Top, Blizz Buff Plx!11! mimimimi"... But the difference would look way smaller if Picture wasn't this wide... if I put my Details e.g. over the whole width of my screen, my difference to next player will also be much bigger, than if i have it like only 1/50 of the Screen Width. The Scale is important and since there is no real scale here... or better said, only a scale that like 99% of Players won't understand, these players will always cry!
Some people would even go this far to say: Those Kind of Charts are pure Propaganda and Raigebait to get Traffic on the site, since people don't understand and only see bar graphs and don't know what scales and so on... and so they will cry in Comments about it, what will generate traffic and traffic is great for making money via advertisement.

So Mr. "I know Graphs better than you and use arguments even my 2 year old nephew could crush"... what's your argument now?

The dots on the above four graphs are for "outlier" logs for that boss. If you go to Warcraft Logs website and mouse over one of those dots, it will show a score/DPS value. It is the highest recorded log for that boss in that dataset, and is actually not included when calculating the different statistical values for that boss (maximum, median, etc.) which you can also see by mousing over the bar for that boss.

The above graphs are screenshots, so the mouseover thing doesn't work, you have to go to the Warcraft Logs website.

that 3% aura buff to frost mage really solved the problem

Comment by Wilyer

Are people still confused about how Aug damage is laid out? Good lord people.

THEIR damage is extremely low, this also takes into account the contributions of buffs they hand out to other players. This is why FFXIV damage breakdowns are vastly superior.
