How the Totem System Overhaul Will Impact Elemental Shaman in Mists of Pandaria Classic

The entire Totem system has been reworked to be used as reactive cooldowns by the players, instead of providing enduring buffs, which were removed in favor of having the Shaman's presence itself apply the Elemental Oath, Burning Wrath, and Grace of Air buffs to all nearby raid members. The cooldown totems are mostly ones you had before, such as Tremor Totem, but Capacitor Totem will also be introduced, allowing you to stun enemies at will on a short cooldown.

Snapshotting Fire Elemental Totem is now much less effective than before, as most abilities will dynamically adjust to the Spell Power of your character. It is still important to make sure you have as many temporary buffs as possible when using your cooldowns, regardless.

Ghost Wolf is now instant cast by default, but also requires a glyph for its anti-slowing effect from Cataclysm to return.

Ancestral Focus, the Firelands Lava Surge 4p tier bonus, and Glyph of Unleashed Lightning (Lightning Bolt castable while moving) are now baked into the specialization instead, along with other old system talents, such as Rolling Thunder (which now lets Lightning Shield gain up to 7 charges, down from 9 in Cataclysm).

Shamanistic Rage can now also be used by Elemental for damage reduction and Mana conservation.

Flame Shock increases the damage of Lava Burst when present on the target, which now always critical strikes regardless of Flame Shock.

Healing Stream Totem no longer heals the whole group for a minor amount, and instead heals a single (or two with talents) target for a significant amount.
