Legion was nine years ago. If the Jailer had been in the lore for nine years before we fought him, people would have prolly been fine with it. They would have had fan theories, would have read into everything and came to their own conclusions about "Maybe he's the reason x y and z happened!" A true retcon is taking something that happened and deciding that it didn't. What Blizzard typically does is grant us new information. If we assumed 'this happened cause of this' then we learn 'actually it was because of this'.Most of the few real retcons happen in the wow books. Direction changed so we have to assume chronicle has a fault narrator.People used to believe that the earth was flat or that the sun revolved around US or that it was a god. We have new information that debunks that. The world wasn't retconned, we just know better now.But to make a ton of changes all at once is hard to digest and feels lazy.Xalatath has had nine years to ramp up.And to be fair, we still don't know why she's doing what she's doing. Her motives are just what players assume.

Can't wait until Xal'atath either realizes she's been manipulated by another big bad all along or after we defeat her, she utters the usual words like, she's been doing this for the "greater good" and to save everyone.The wheel keeps churning! 🎡

I'm going to laugh so hard when it turns out the Jailer had better motivations than Xal.
Xal is way overcooked at this point. People hated Zovaal for being a 1 patch pony but 9 years for Xal and still dont know her exact intentions is crazy. Shes obsessed with a disc in her hand, tells us she deserves something, she cannot be stopped and laughs when you deplete your key. Thats it. Over 9 years. I really wonder when the story starts to become spicy and we get "WTF" moments, because so far its a "surely in next patch", looks like 11.1.7 wont tell us anything new (saw the video, we knew that happened, we just get a confirmation), maybe 11.2 right?
Every single Shadow Priest who had that damn knife in Legion knows how much of a complete idiot Xal actually is.
