Piss easy and boring af.Season 9 and still no endgame, no chalance, no leaderboards.
What I'd love to see is the return of the multi-layer dungeons we had in the initial Diablo release. The fixed entry points are all set up in the current D4 open world, but very few of these dungeons in D4 have a second level, let alone more than two. The open area ones are nice as they invite you to get surrounded by trash mobs and burn them down or get clobbered, but the single layer caves, cells, thieves guild complexes are tedious as all the trash you fight is the same even though the layout is randomized every visit to these dungeons. Each level can contain progressively harder mobs and various elites to battle with greater percent chance of loot drops. Dungeon levels could be similar to Helltide levels, containing a jump of 3 or 4 levels above your current level each layer you finish off before climbing or walking down to the next level.Yeah, this may sound similar to the Infernal Hordes, or even a Helltide, but the adventure is in the dank, dark, creepy dungeon with limited visual indicators. The smokey torch lit wall sconces are all you have or your own inner glow to see what is waiting to crash your party. Theesee were the hallmarks of the initial Diablo thrills, dungeon crawling and the loot you found.I'd offer that some of the dungeon mechanics we see, not the NPC's mechanics, but finding the mechanical cubes for example or statues to place on pedestals for opening barriers to the next area are nice to have. If we had different types of locations, look for the Horadric cube keys not on a pedestal or on the floor, but say on a book shelf, or "inside of a cupboard" that you need to open before finding it. Put a key on the table in a laboratory or torture chamber and make it so we have to search through books, papers, and stuff to find it, add in some possible keys but they turn out to be duds or something, maybe a trigger to have a few mobs attack that drop from the ceiling. Have fake a cupboard you open that triggers a drop out floor that sends you to the next dungeon level in a room full of trash mobs that attack (if you are in a party of players, then you get separated and possibly killed because all the trash mobs are still much higher than you are because of your pooled group levels). Have a torch wall sconce be the lever/switch instead of some of the current type of levers we have in dungeons to raise a portcullis or lower a drawbridge to get to another part of the dungeon. More things like this make it mentally challenging.
When these things pop, they really need to put an icon on the map. Theyre so easy to miss
