It's insane that they would immediately kneecap such an incredible and lovingly designed feature with 1 Alliance home and 1 Horde home per account....It's very hard to enjoy the reveal that we can have dramatically different racially themed interiors when I know I'll only be able to make them to fit a whopping two of my characters. If neighborhoods keep lots of houses per account from happening, they need to let us make solitary plots. I absolutely appreciate the effort to avoid Garrisons 2, but give us the option. It's not killing ESO, it won't kill WOW.
One Alliance and one Horde home? This feels like it needs to change. One per faction should be easy to get. Make it an investment to have more, but make it possible. Otherwise it's kind of crap for people with a lot of characters, who have very different aesthetic styles. I play both an Orc Warrior and a Blood Elf Mage for example. Not a lot of crossover in theme there.
I have been reeling in all the housing news today, it's been truly overwhelming in the positive sense, only for me to read here I only get two houses for my entire account? I was positive they mentioned earlier that each character of mine could have their own house, it's extremely limiting for me to have to try and build an environment for over 60 unique characters with just two settings...
loved this
I feel like the current limit of one house per faction (for two houses per account) is going to be a temporary thing, given how much more they want to push this.Like right now, having two neighborhood districts, a bunch of basic items, and all the other stuff we've got set up is just to get the feature out the door and going so people can start playing with it.I suspect that over the next couple of years, new things get implemented and things get expanded upon so that you can make houses themed for your different alts and what not.
While I’m still looking forward to housing, the one horse/one alliance thing has really dampened my excitement. And what happens if you only play one faction? You only get one home?I’m a role player. I was really looking forward to designing a house for my character. I suppose they’re too focused on the “player” part of player housing. I figure a lot of people will be buidling something to reflect them and their entire war and, but that’s not how I interact with the game and my characters. My blood elf warlock with shady jobs isn’t going to share housing with my nervous, introverted goblin shaman who hates warlocks with a passion. I was happy when I heard our characters wouldn’t have to share the same space. I would’ve understood a limit to conserve resources, but only one per faction? Will continue to remind myself that nothing is final yet, but, yikes, I suddenly am much less hopeful.
Very cool, I expected it to be 1 house per warband, so per faction is pretty great. All sounds promising, I am looking forward to it! Thanks for the bulleted run-down as I am not a fan of videos :)
Not an Alliance home AND a Horde home, the Blizzard post says you get 1 total: "once you buy a house on a character of a given faction, that house is then shared amongst your entire Warband, whether you’re playing Horde or Alliance at the time."
I know folks are a bit let-down by two houses per account limitation, but I genuinely feel like this is only temporary. As we get more housing zones in the future, it's going to make choosing your locale VERY difficult for folks, and I think they'll absolutely either fully lift that restriction, or at the least open it up further - maybe 3-4 houses per faction.
World of Housecraft
Lots of good stuff! But one big bad thing has become official: only 1 house per account (and per faction). My main is a night elf, because... *drood*. But I have lots of dwarfs alts because I love that race. And only my elf is in a guild. So I was thinking about making a big house that would suit all my dwarves, and a smaller, more simple house for my elf so that he could enjoy my guild neighbourhood. Now I see that I'm going to have to choose between having a small druid house to take part in my guild's village, or making the dwarven house of my dreams but be excluded from the guild neighbourhood (or be there with a house that doesn't represent my guild character at all). And that's extremely sad.Furthermore, I see that the roleplay servers will have separate neighbourhoods. If it's just for public areas, that's a great idea! But it's imperative that the private areas (guild/community) are open to everyone. I'm part of a roleplay community that groups players together, whatever their realm is, so that they can take part in events. We really need to be able to do the same with housing.
