With the release of Season 8's final patch notes, Druids can look forward to a whole lot of improvements coming their way. Patch 2.2, which will be released alongside Season 8 on April 29, will buff several underperforming archetypes, including minions and Earth skills, while also addressing long-standing bugs and unintended interactions.
This article only covers changes made since the conclusion of the Season 8 PTR. To get a complete picture of what's coming for Druids in Season 8, feel free to check out the
Season 8 PTR Druid Changes
as well.
Druid Skill Changes in Season 8
As the first of many changes, the buff to
Storm Strike
's chain radius could point at a return of what has been Druid's strongest Basic Skill build in the past. In stark contrast, the buffs to
Ravens
and
Poison Creeper
attempt to buff one of the Druid's ever-so-weak points - minion gameplay.
Last but not least, Diablo 4's development team looks to improve the gameplay experience around
Stone Burst
, which is showcased in the Passives section as well.
Blizzard
Chain acquisition radius increased by 50%.
Non-physical damage resist increased from 15% to 20%.
Passive Damage increased from 31% to 90%.
Passive damage over 2 seconds increased from 47% to 65%.
Active damage over 2 seconds increased from 126% to 180%.
Stone Burst
Reverted a change to
Stone Burst
that slowed down the rate between casts back to its version from Season of Hatred Rising.
Druid Passives Changes in Season 8
Who doesn't remember the dark times right after Diablo 4's launch, where Druids suffered under massive resource generation issues? With the massive buff to , all woes related to lack of Spirit, especially during leveling, should be gone forever and ever.
The two other passives that will receive changes are related to Earth skills. Both and will be buffed to incentivize Earth skill usage, like
Stone Burst
.
Blizzard
Basic Skill Spirit generation increased from 6/12/18% to 10/20/30%.
While the guaranteed Critical Strike buff is active, it now also gains 50% increased Critical Strike damage.
can now be procced again while the buff is active after a very short delay.
Channeled skills now periodically activate Nature's Fury.
s triggered by now channel to maximum size before exploding.
Druid Spirit Boons Changes in Season 8
This change to one of Druid's more dominant Spirit Boons should introduce more dynamic gameplay around resource generation instead of a static resource increase.
Blizzard
Gift of the Stag
Maximum Spirit reduced from 40 to 30
Spirit generation increased from 5 to 10
Druid Aspects and Items Changes in Season 8
As mentioned before,
Storm Strike
receives even more support in the form of
Aspect of Impending Deluge
, which will increase the Basic Skill's AoE damage potential.
As one of many Shapeshifting items,
Wildheart Hunger
supports dynamic gameplay between Druid forms, and a buff to this item could incentivize more builds to use .
In the end,
Gathlen's Birthright
, the new Druid helm introduced with Season 8, receives a massive uptime and effectiveness buff based on PTR feedback.
Blizzard
Aspect of Impending Deluge
Previous: 's damage is increased by 50% and increases the damage the target takes from other skills by 20-40% for 6 seconds.
Now:
Storm Strike
chains to twice as many targets and increases the damage the targets take from other skills by 30-50% for 6 seconds.
Decay rate reduced from 2% per second to 0.5% per second
Gathlen's Birthright
Anima of the Forest duration increased from 10 to 15 seconds.
Critically Hitting a boss grants 5 stacks.
Developer's Note:
The break between the benefits of Anima of the Forest allows for much larger bonuses to be granted on this effect, but after feedback and testing, we've decided to increase the uptime on this effect by 50%. Giving it much greater boss fighting effectiveness in order to help the moment of power feel more consistent.

Channeled skills now periodically activate Nature's Fury.
By far the best change in the whole patch notes. Lightning Storm with Nature’s Fury will be the coolest build in this season imo
