You can grind out the rep in LFR before setting foot in normal/heroic. I did it chasing some trinkets from the last two wings.
So it skips One Armed Bandit, effectively making the skip useless by circumventing the second most valuable kill in the raid.
Does it count if you've already killed Mug'zee prior to getting the quest? My guild and I just downed him on heroic last week and we were hoping we'd be able to skip this week. We had no idea the skip was a quest, given how it's worded in the renown.
People are still locked a rank behind, meaning a lot of players can't unlock this until next week. Blizzard still seem to be denying the issue as well.
So what you can do to open it for your guilds run. Go on a twink, clear nhc and unlock rank 5. accept quest and kill mug zee afterwards. complete quest. let your guild start a new id and let them kill vexie, join the raid open the skip for them and then your guild can do last 2 bosses.
Why is the door to one armed bandit blocked off? It drops loot that’s highly sought after it’d be natural to skip, clear one back and then the last two.
Completing the quest on a lower difficulty did enable the skip on higher ones too, though the quest has to be picked up first at the higher difficulty.Yesterday I grabbed the skip quest on Heroic, then swapped to Normal and grabbed it there. I then defeated Mug'Zee on Normal, which completed the Normal and Heroic versions of the quest simultaneously. I then checked Heroic to see if the skip worked and it did! I imagine for Mythic raiders, it would work the same, effectively letting you skip progressing the entire raid to jump straight to Mug'Zee. That said, it does not sound like it is working as intended. It might have been a day one bug to be hotfixed, but we all know the rules on WoW bugs: Exploit early, exploit often.Considering one of the last articles read "Only 30 Guilds Have Killed Mythic One-Armed Bandit in 21 Days - Hardest 6th Boss Ever Made", if the skip I just described still works? Maybe a team out there struggling for excuses can skip around? Silly food for thought.
If a player uses this skip, they should be prevented from gaining any completion achievement for the raid, as they chose to not complete the full raid. What is the point of running a raid if you aren't going to defeat all bosses and kill every enemy mob?
Hey, look another renown level perk that I can't unlock until 1 week after everyone because of this bug that no one seems to be talking about. I wish wowhead would make a post to get some visibility on it. https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/gallagio-loyalty-rewards-renown-bug/2080001/11
