Yes it was wayyy too much gem fragments, I had to spend several days in the headhunt zones just to craft 1 yellow occult gem and now that I finished making all the occult gems that I need I have 0 gem fragments left to craft the normal gems that I need :(
i dont even know what an occult gem is, just really got into this season 2 days ago and am maybe lvl60 now, guess im not at that occult gem endgame content, but i need to hurry with lunar event first
Few?Howcome? Im as casual as it gets playing very little every week and i made 5 already. And there is no point in 'doing it all over on alts' cause you can just unequip them for free, stash is and use it in all your chars.
I am glad I don't play seasonal content, it is just not conductive to a smooth and continued game play.Random Number Generators are the bane of any computer game, never knowing what you'll get looting, finding or creating something. Also, only the programmers know what the actual percent range is required to get that specific item. Good luck to all of you.
First couple of seasons the reputation and powers were unlocked super quick. But for a few seasons now it became a bit too grindy, should maybe sit somewhere in the middle inbetween
I have found it difficult to obtain the necessary items to craft the occult gems. I'm playing on Torment 4, and using my potion on cooldown for the headhunts, whispers and dungeon runs. The heads are very few and far between. I've been playing Season 7 every single day and just last night got my third head. The head and the gem material requirements are ridicluously high. Also ridiculous is the serious lack of Forgotten Altar spawns, which I see they are fixing in the next patch. The one nice thing about this season so far is the target farming of specific gear, but this occult gem material grind makes what could have been a super fun seasonal theme alot less desirable. I hope they continue to listen to feedback and improve the experience very soon.
Making these for my build was probably the most tedious aspect of it this season. Especially since the rot needed is also fueling the witch power upgrades. Was excited when devs said they were reducing loot and increasing rot, only to find the reality was barely a change at all.Thankful to have finished it all though, was a pretty decent season outside of the Rot Grind.
I didn't find the gem grind to be that insane, but I am sure that is just me. Every season there seems to be a limiting resource, this season it was gems, last season it was gold (unless you were into trading items).Just go to the green zones when they first spawn, and click those roots. When you see the big root manafesting on the map, go there. Click more roots, and hang out there for that root to pop and the mini boss to spawn. That is the guy that has a greater chance to drop heads. Now that you have completed the Fugitive whisper you can still kill the mini boss on subsequent spawns and get another chance at a head. When the timer at the top of the screen shows that 10 -20 min has gone by move on to the more fresh green zones. The newer ones typically have more players spawning more roots to click on so more gem drops.Good Luck...
Just don't make them compounding like that. Way too many of the same resources never works. One thing is the fugitive heads + rot, they're seasonal currencies. The gem fragments on the other hand, are also used for the base game, and already in a significant quantity.Ask for more seasonal currency and less of the base game currency.
tbh this isnt hard, is just.. boring and a grind fest.., i mean.. you had to put hours and hours on those zones just collect by rng chance a head , far from that, you can have many as you wish, but the gems fragments are a pain.. you had to decide if use them for the new witchcraft gems or keep them for our normal gems..
Its pain even for first character. Absolutely disgusting game design that doesn't value customer time. Stopped playing because grind is just too much.
The rot you get is too little for both power upgrades and gem crafting.
People talk about the lack of real endgame content for D4. I think this is one of the ways they keep folks playing. I don't see them changing it. There is always one material, or many, each season that becomes the reasoning for continuing. And there is always the grind to 300 for those who are willing to do it.
im now paragon 202, finished the pass long ago, crafted one whole occult gem whole time, and sure i dont know my goal if i should keep going for 300, i will not get the bird pet anyway, the craft 10 occult gems my block, weird who tested this how long it takes until you maybe can craft one. And yes i got now 6 fugitive heads with me, but there is always other stuff missing.
