Will be interesting to hear what the drop rate is: as a comparison the carpet from noblegarden was 0,5% at first and it was a big hunt if you wanted to get it the first year given only 7 days to do the event on, required a massive amount of characters in case of very bad luck.However after a few days they buffed it to something like 5%, making it perhaps too easy, considering many players have several alts nowadays.Now, if this is something in the 0,1% range (not much higher than love rocket originally) it will be a challenge to get it done in a year, potentially annoying, because you might miss out despite loads of kills (even 2k kills aren't enough to be safe, and in order to do 2k kills in a year you need more than 2 accounts full of high level characters), while others might get lucky on it, if it's 0,5-1% should be hard but reasonable, something like 3-5% will be a "given".
I want more avenues to get mounts from limited time events. Lunar mount was great, I just took my time earning currency and got it with effort. Who knows, maybe I will luck out this year with valentines day, but if not, it's another year of making use of the salty title.
This new mount is a recolor of the Trading Post mount. That's easily noticed.So my guess is, this goes one of two ways.This mount is added to the box at a fairly good drop rate PURELY to make everyone farming Heartbreaker go "oh cool, at least I got this" OR, they do the reverse. Up the drop rate on Heartbreaker, and this mount becomes the new yearly chase.Either way, I'll wager there's zero chance they make both as low as Heartbreaker has still been post-buff.It's purely a way to calm the masses and to keep us grinding each year. I don't really care - some things need to be rare. After all, Timereaver has eluded me for.... forever? I've only seen it drop once for someone! Thousands of bosses killed. Yet - it keeps me running TW (that, and the cache). No chase, no care.Like Plunderstorm 1week after it relaunched and everyone bought their goodies.They're not going to make every carrot easy to get. Ofc Blizzard will add new mounts to the game and especially to old things like “love is in the air”If they didn’t do this, the holiday would die out.It’s not suppose to be easy getting these mounts.It’s a journey through many years of farming which also would make the mount more special imo. They did hear us complaining about the drop rate for ordinary people with jobs and a family, would never have a chance at this/these mount(s) so that’s why they added the higher drop rate for the first kill of the day. I like it - and I still don’t have it 😂
