yes

it is, but if people are just starting or just coming back it is useful to know how to catch up

the cap is eight charges, are you sure you're not capped on charges?

But it's like that for two months now? What's the news? Is it uncapped now?

I'm already making 2-3 times this much literally just screwing around.

I'm even sitting on almost 4 digis of thread because I'm quest capped by it.

The article is for people coming back to the game and raiding or those who are just now starting to raid. Not everyone follows the news when they aren't actively playing or subbed.

RWF! may be over, but they're not the only Raiders who play WoW; YOU may think they are or have max'd out everything YOU want to, but some still may not &/or have a life outside of a video game.

Yeah but you still have the two week cooldown on turning in the quest, you’ll literally never catch up.

As someone who raids weekly and never found myself low on finery or ever behind on the buff this is interesting information.

As a system, I wouldn't have expected it to function like this. Not only can you turn the quest in multiple times per week but there is also boosted drop rate for finery based on the amount your character has earned in order to facilitate multiple turn ins when you are behind. For example, I assume if you are starting raiding late and have not collected any Finery or took an extended break you benefit from the boosted drop rate. Not just an alt thing but just a general catch up thing. I think it's similar to how Bullion worked? Later in the season I seem to remember Bosses dropping more for alts that hadn't earned any so they quickly caught up to mains in terms of # items purchased with substantially less required play time.

That cap on the currency screen for Finery always seemed kind of silly to me because it's an account wide currency and you can only spend if a turn in is allowed. You could have 2000 finery saved up and it wouldn't matter. I think week 2 or 3 I was actually going to hit cap on my main from H full clear + M farm, so I transferred the finery to an alt to avoid cap and ended the week over cap. After that week I always had more finery than I needed to spend. But the currency cap is maybe an indication of how much currency a character should have by this point and the game provides boosted drop rates to speed a character to that cap?

Isn’t the buff account wide once you complete it?

yes, but for many of us that are holding lockouts on last 2 bosses trying to get CE our it's easier to quickly LFR an alt and send the finery over. doing LFR on mains results in much lower finery amounts. the buff is account wide but you still have to do the turn ins every 2 weeks to increase it

I think the boosted drops apply to mains too? If you are holding an M lockout and not earning Finery, from like a weekly H clear/sale or something, I think the main would also receive boosted drop rates because it is technically behind. I think the boost is probably just more pronounced on alts that have earned 0/112 than a main that has maybe earned some portion of the cap. I noticed boosted drops on an alt I play weekly in an H skip run.

But isn't that article a bit pointless for those just starting the raid now? Because going through LFR once will already give you enough Finery for around 6 stacks.
For people coming back after a few weeks of absence I agree. They get like 2 to 4 finery per boss, even on heroic, while it would be just easier to just take some random alt that can enter the LFR and get the upgrades you missed real fast.

i think youre confused bud. the limit on finery per toon is 112 (this week) and the limit on the "threads" buff is 20%, so unless your exploiting and talking about it actively, you are mistaken

How could there be a shortage, the buff is account, once you max it none of the alts can add to it your done.

Shure, haven't got charge on any from 8 alts

Comment by BeerWolf

I was only getting 3 or 4 per kill today, what gives?

It's on my main, not played in 2 months... is the catch up for alts up to where the main's at? 😐

Comment by itsjustSev

13 classes x 112 would be 1456... which is 4 digits. Just saying.
