One of my greatest regrets is permanently deleting the account I created in Vanilla during Legion because I was going through some stuff. It was the right decision at the time, but it will always bother me that I lost my MoP/WoD legendaries, anniversary rewards, etc. So, while I'll still miss those achievements, this makes up for it in some way - it doesn't matter that much to me if other people know whether I "was there" or not.
