Battle for Ashenvale Updates December 15 - Season of Discovery

With hotfixes that are rolling out, we’re making two significant adjustments.

The Battle for Ashenvale will now progress about 50% faster than previously.
The reputation gain for participating in killing an enemy Keeper of the Grove or Blade Master has been increased to 400 (was 200).

Together, these should reduce as well as compensate for the longer time between battles.

I get they want to encourage an ongoing battle theme, but it seems to be causing them more headaches than it's worth. It happens less frequently and is worth more rep so that you feel even more that you have to pass up doing other things so that you don’t miss the event. Yesterday, after 2 or so hours of waiting it finally begun, we killed all lieutenants and then it reset, again, showing that one of the defeated lieutenants was up again ( he was actually not there at all because we killed him like 5 mins prior), making the final boss be immune and thus making us unable to end the event. Same as 2 days ago when we actually waited and one lieutenant respawned when there were 4 mins left and everyone gave up, and so on. Great for those who farmed their rep when they did, for the rest of us it's down to farming WSG , as if we don't play the same game or pay the same sub fee..Comment by FakeIdentityYea, Blizzard have no idea what to do with this event. I am certain of it. It was fine as it was, some people simply don't have the time to grind reputation in BGs (most of them don't even want to). Just put it on a timer and let us farm reputation, get the gear and play the game. No need for people to camp or AFK in Ashenvale for higher rep gains. Blizzard simply can't escape these "endless grind" systems, even though in the last years their community told them over 10000 times that they don't want to grind the same thing endlessly. SoD is something good finally, don't ruin it.Comment by sempire90Got revered even on my alt so the gain is very good... Never have i ever been revered to wsg now with sod i am like 3000/21000 to exa on my alt rogue... What they Really need to fix is being stomped by premades 8/10 games... Let the premades fight premades and solo/double/trio/quads fight against another random... Premades means wasted time for the whole faction... And no you can not beat premades with pug not unless they very very bad and your team is very very good.. The artificial timer between "events" isn't going away ... So this does nothing to off-set that. I think it still was a great decision to not to put any sort of beta or PTR so we didn't get spoiled and the game didn't get figured out completely before the release day.Comment by wowmania2394it is currently so damn slowComment by MalrunedHuge W for Blizz.Comment by BillcarsonAn unintended consequence is that the world looks like a very low pop server in late Cataclysm. Orgrimmar and SW on my two rooms (very high servers) have 10-15 people in and around the AH/Bank. If I didn’t know this and started today, I would be very alarmed that the servers were dead and probably not put in any more play time.
