I expecting the 7th or 8th. Gives them time to close 10.1.7 ptr and squash urgent bugs the roll out the new ptr.

Day after the patch launch.

I hope we are very close, even tho augvoker killed every hype for every patch in terms of gameplay by how mandatory this augvoker-utilitydps-fulldps setup is gonna be from now on, especially how useless melees are compared to int specs, I still want to play the game. Since .5 and .7 "patches" have 0 content, waiting 4-5 months between big patches is too long but at least PTR gives the "something new" feeling.
10.2 ~winter 2023
10.3 ~early summer
10.3.5 with rotation raids ~late summer till new expac at ~2024 winter

What’s the history with the names? Honoring the Fallen sounds pretty interesting, considering how the new worldtree came to be.

This is what I just came here to comment about, too. I wonder if it's totally random or really is a patch name (placeholder)--in which case it might be a hint.

PTR week of the 12th, maybe 6 weeks of testing, 10.2 will probably launch week of October 24th to avoid Halloween - and to help make 10.2.5 launch the week before Christmas instead of the day after as the current patch cadence indicates (~8 weeks between patches)

Another possibility though would be that the patches go 10.x -> ~10 weeks -> 10.x.5 -> ~8 weeks -> 10.x.7 -> ~6 weeks -> 10.x+1
which would mean that 10.2 would launch October 17th with only 5 weeks of testing. But I feel like the 24th is the most likely launch date (between October 17th, 24th, and 31st)

Doubt 10.2 will go live till after Blizzcon.

Patch could possibly go live tuesday 31st of october with Blizzcon the following weekend 3rd-4th november and raids/seasons going live at 7th of november.

It would make for a pretty stressed event, as you might believe Blizzard would want content creators from across the globe to attend to promote whats next for WoW.

Most likely it will be pushed till november completely tho. Meaning patch hits 7th, seasons start 14th november.

Its the result of the patch version being 10.2.0.51150. On wowhead the quest with ID 51150 is Honering the Fallen. Honoring the Fallen. I think it actually pulls from the quest ID ingame aswel. So its just purely coïncedental and not related to the patch name at all. Its just the sniffer returning what that ID number is related to on the website atm.

That's a pretty cool coincidence, considering the potential theme of the patch.

That would mean a RWF that gets scuffed because of Thanksgiving. Or an insanely easy RWF.

Comment by Rtajx

Should be out already imo, 10.1 is the worst patch to date with the most bull!@#$ content ever, 9.1 even crushed 10.1.. Zzz easy dog#$%^ patch, also @#$% aug

Beats having to see if Liquid or Echo save Christmas...

Don't like the sound of "open world challenges". Too much outdoor content is challenging enough already in DF.

Huh? What open world content is challenging in DF?

Every (sub)zone full of elites and no one there for help. Not every spec has selfheal.

Well then just get people to help you out. That's like saying raids are challenging because you can't solo them, it's content that was intended for groups. If you make or look for a group in custom I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find people for anything.

They use names of NPCs, quests and other stuff from previous expansions to name encrypted builds as to not reveal any information on what actually the patch's name is.

Or not. Someone else's answer made lots of sense.
