People will claim the game is dying in the comments, as is tradition for the past 14 years

Yeah man, he should’ve stayed for another 23 years. This really shows the state of the company.

"Heh heh, Glad I could help!"

Probably prepping for the Merger.

Comment by Stevox

before everyone gonna rage about blizzard again, people leaving an company after many years is totally normal...

We can see that these guys were passionate, cool people to be around and to create things.

Now... time is money, friend !

:(

Good for him! 23 years is a very long time to be employed at once company. I'm sure he's going to enjoy his retirement :) or whatever he decides to pursue. Let the young blood come in.

Comment by Leviathon

Guy's probably retiring as he surely doesn't need to work at this point.

People leave companies for many different reasons, it isn't always about company greed

Comment by Dreadspite

For the guy that voiced " time is money, friend". He works for a company that lives and dies by that moniker in spades. But I guess its time for the guy to move on, after a couple of decades of his dedicated work in Blizzard. Best wishes for him and his future aspirations.

Comment by Devil64

Agreed. Good luck and thanks for the dedicated work!

The man has been there for over 20 years , is time to retire, doesn’t mean the game is dead or anything, geez some ppl

its that so many people left blizzard now and hiring new peeps the game will change. if the game changes then so will the audience. blizz is nowhere near what it used to be and severely died down quite a bit. hence why dragonflight went on a 50% sale after like 2 or so months is proof of this. the game is simply not what it used to be. still fun though dont get me wrong but changed non the less.

blizzards new fan base are children, if you think 23 years is a long time, BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
(PS, people don't leave for more reasons then money, or politics)

wow, this is a great example of children today, if you think 23 years is enough to retire on, your sadly mistaken and hes not even 50. so unless he got stock options when blizz sold to activision...

Working 23 years at the same company in software/game development is absolutely unheard of. It's more outlandish that he actually DID stick around for 23 years.

No it's not common for someone to leave an over 2 decade long career at a company unless they're retiring, just throwing that out there to all of y'all trying to cope with this.

Because it's more common for people in this industry to hop from company to company every 3-5 years.

I wouldn't say the game is dying but current blizzard is not the same as pre activision blizzard that is for sure even putting aside all the bs the last few years and the greed. Hell current blizzard isn't even close to pre wod blizzard. Its hard to even say they are a shell of their former selves at this point.
I would say they are unrecognizable compared. Blizzard is all about the business, making money and less about building their community nowadays. That wasn't always the case.
