Tips and Tricks for the Launch of Diablo 4

World Tier I is recommended for players who may not have a lot of time to sink into the game; enemies are easier, thus leveling is faster, and you can breeze through the main story to get into the endgame quickly.

World Tier II is recommended for players familiar with Diablo games and ARPGs as a whole; offering more of a challenge, monsters are harder to kill, give increased experience, and drop more gold.

Don't Forget:Campaign and Open World Progression

Many systems such as Mounts, Renown, and Altars of Lilith are account-wide unlocks, making them key systems to interact with for anyone looking to play alts

Make sure your party's campaign progress is in sync - if you don't receive quest rewards for quests you've never done, you are out of sync. Having the party leader be the player with the least progression in the campaign can fix this

Cellars and Events are worth your time - they have a high chance of dropping Rare loot, Obols, Gems, and quite a bit of experience!

Entering a new region changes the location of your Town Portal: you can quickly make it to a zone's major town this way before Waypoints are unlocked

Claim your Renown rewards! Doing almost anything in a zone earns Renown, and this earns you Skill and Paragon points - crucial to the leveling process

Don't Forget:Artisans and Vendors

A Rare Chest Armor at 330 Item Power has Fire Resistance with an affix range between 10.4% - 18.5%

A Rare Chest Armor at 340 Item Power has Fire Resistance with an affix range between 15.4% - 25.8%

625 Item Power

725 Item Power

Don't Forget:

Don't be afraid to upgrade your weapons and armor a few times - the costs are relatively cheap and it's almost free power. If you have to choose between one or the other, prioritize your weapons.

Strike a balance between salvaging and selling your gear, since you'll want both the gold and the upgrade materials

The Jeweler unlocks at level 20, so make sure you do the quick introductory quest

If an item doesn't inherently have sockets, don't discard it if it's an upgrade - sockets can be added through the Jeweler upgrade system

Similarly to the Blacksmith, don't be afraid to upgrade your jewelry a few times when material costs are low

Don't Forget:

Don't forget to upgrade your health potions every 10 levels - you don't want to be caught in a dangerous situation while only able to heal a small sliver of your health

Elixirs are useful even at low levels - they offer an experience bonus and last 30 minutes, including through death, and as such are a perfect leveling tool

You can unlock this vendor early by acquiring a Codex of Power Aspect from any dungeon - otherwise, you'll have to wait until level 25

Your weapon will change much more frequently than an amulet, so don't Imprint your weapon right away; choose a more stable slot that won't be upgraded every few quests to get the most of your Aspect through the leveling process

Don't Forget:

Carry at least one Whispering Key on you for when you find a Silent Chest. You never know if you'll be put into a different phase when you take your Town Portal back, missing out on your window for loot

Class Mechanics unlock at level 15, so you'll want to make it a priority to complete the relevant quests

Be sure to set your font scale to small to keep tooltips compact and help prevent the scrolling issue many players disliked

Change your cursor size to medium or large, depending on preference, to allow for better visibility of your mouse cursor in the heat of battle

Players annoyed by constant "I'm out of Energy" or "I can't do that yet" messages can turn off audio on Player Error Messages

For additional audio cues on loot and mouseover, Blizzard has allowed you to select which types of items will play an additional sound

Players prone to motion sickness can turn off Screen Shake Effects to mitigate any potential issues

Flashing lights can be mitigated by turning off Combat Hit Flash

It's recommended to turn Advanced Tooltip Compare and Advanced Tooltip Information on, as this gives you more information on your gear when comparing potential upgrades and reviewing ranges on affixes

Be sure to enable Display Player Highlight to allow you to find your character in combat-heavy scenarios or otherwise awkward corners and scenery

Your Action Wheel isn't just for emotes - you can bind things such as Elixirs here for quick use, and action wheel inputs can further be keybound to use at the click of a button instead of having to open the wheel every time.
