Not sure what the point in keeping Mankrik around and popping up is when the only thing he shares in common with the origional character is the name at this point.
Language evolves over time. This is natural when two different races are together long enough. This doesn't spit on the lore, it evolves it.

I think I have yet to see Mankrik's trading Post dialogue in-game. I'm glad that he finally got a happy ending, though.
This is the kind thing that makes me feel like, aside from wanting to grind m+ and coping with biweekly tuning, there are other players (and developers) that feel the same about the lore and nov stories as I do :)
